You would not believe what the Mayor of Auburn is trying to do now.. He is trying to sell the Board of Public works to NNPD (the power). and the city would still be respo. for the sewer and water, but there would be no money to fix anything if anything broke down. So guess what would happen higher bills. Then if NNPD takes over we would have to pay them if there was a power out to our house... or a storm took out the power to our house we would have to pay for them to come and fix the problem. Nice right and our Mayor doesn't even have to ask the people in the town if this is what we want, all he has to do is have a vote with the city counsel at the next meeting and if the voting is 3 for and 3 against. then he is the deceiding vote isn"t that just great for him. All he is seeing is dollar signs.

The utility has benn spending money like a crack addict, they’ve invented fees from out of thin air, and substantially increased everything else to try and feed their voracious appetite. It’s about time for the people of Auburn to take back control of the utility THEY own. Sell the utility, are you really that stupid?

We fund wind turbines that are inefficent Solar companies selling cra@ panels, and we are surprised that we are funding a POS car made in Europe. What about the failed Obamawager the Volt quite an impressive bit of financial engineering to build an American POS car.

I hope I live long enough to see the History record on this administration. After this outlaw administration gets kicked out in 2012, I hope the sharks start circling to find out the truth and publish it. I want Obama to go down in history as the worst president ever, and for it to show how he did try to destroy’overthrow the government of this country from the inside out. And who ever it was that backed him. Herman Cain 2012 !!! God help him save this country!! Please!!

How did this thread go from selling the Board of Public Works to more nonsense about Obama?

The mayor is not trying to sell the Board. He wants to dissolve the board members, so that he and the city council make the decisions. He failed to notify the public and go through the proper channels and now it's supposed to go to a vote on Tuesday. This is his attempt to gain control over the utilities and it's reserves. Who knows what else he will do. I know there's a lot of discontent about the utilities here, but that because people don't understand how the utilites work. They only think about themselves and their wallets. The Board of Public Works provides a great service to this community and all that could be jeopardized. Despite what some people may understand or think, the Board of Public Works does what's best for the community. Just imagine if he did decide to lease out the electric department b/c it's in the "best interest" of the community. Your rates would go up and it would take hours before anyone got your power back on in an outage. Please go to the council meeting and call your council member.

The thing is the Mayor doesn't want the people of Auburn to know about what he is trying to do with BPW. He is going to try and get rid of the Board Members so he can then pay off the loans and then he can have NNPD take over the electrical part. When that happens what is going to happen to the people that work for BPW. He doesn't can because it doesn't affect him. IF he is so big on supporting Auburn why when he built his new house did he use out of town contrators and builders. And if he is really that big on supporting our town why would he want to get rid of more job in our town. Maybe people should stop using the business he works for!! and see how he would feel if his job was on the line.

I don't care what people think but this is just not right! The people of Auburn, Nemaha, Brownville should have a say in this. Not the Mayor and his buddies. Please show up Tuesday and support the BPW!
