Now, do you really think after disarming the so called robber with a knife and being a female, that he (meaning the store clerk) could not subdue her until the police came? I think it was more to this and I hope that family gets justice.

If you play with fire, you're going to get burned. She put herself in a dangerous situation and if she was too dumb to realize it than that simply means there's one less idiot on this earth.

She commited armed robbery and lost her life in the process. She had a possible heart attack in the process of the struggle, By the sounds of it. I just don't see where the clerk defending his own life is an injustice. There is no jury anywhere in Vermont that is going to convict him of anything. He was the victim. The family stated on the news "They will be seeking justice"....I wonder what the world looks like through their eyes. It must be where they are from. Armed robbery is legal and defending yourself is a crime.

It's my understanding that once an assailant is disarmed and there is no longer a threat, the victim does not have the right to attack the assaulant. The knife was taken away. Was she given the option to leave the store? What sort of force was used to 'subdue' her? Was it excessive? There are a lot of rumors floating around but the only one who knows what happened that early morning is the store clerk. While awaiting the autopsy and toxicology reports, there are more questions than answers. Let the facts unfold before jumping to conclusions. Regardless of the outcome, it's a tragic event that left children without a mother. As her children and other family members/friends may be reading this, I offer a prayer that the 'alleged' assailant is at peaceful rest, that her family/friends shall find comfort and that Justice will be served without regard to public opinion.

There has been 3 more robberies since I wrote that the other day....and there has been 3 bank robberies and 4 store hold ups since this woman tried to rob the store in Vergennes 7 robberies. it's a good thing those 7 robbers werent injured or killed in the process....That would just be seven more family's out there seeking justice
