i have lived in belleville most of my life, i have raised 3 kids here. the way kids are today, comes from the parents, if the parents don't keep tabs on their kids or demand respect, do you honestly think the kids of today are going to respect other adults (black or white) trash is trash. a couple of years ago a black man was giving his daughers friend (she was white) a ride home from soccer. the little girl set the house alarm off....this black man waited for the cops to come so he could tell them what happened. the belleville cops threw this black guy down and pushed his daughter to the grown, and arrested him for nothing but that he was black. this same man would also have picnics every summer before school and gave every child black or white school supplies to start school with.... trash is trash black or white......but all this racist crap come from the up bring of our children. we cannot change what happen how many years ago, it's history and is in the history books. we have to make life better now and teach our children it's ok to talk to someone black or someone white if they are good people and not trash. you hang with trash, you become trash

We found our dream home in a historic neighborhood in Belleville 3 years ago. It had been empty for several years. It was a mess. We put our blood sweat and tears, lots of tears in this house and all the equity from our home in a small all white community where I grew up. My husband needed to get closer to work. We had a black thug move in to a rental 3 doors down and our neighborhood hasn't been the same since. Screaming and fighting out in the yard and in the street out front. Cars racing down the alley at all hours. But we decided to stick it out. Till we got our property tax bill this year. Unreal!!! Now we are leaving too. I want out of here so bad. We came to realize that we will never be able to afford to retire in this house. We make too much to qualify for public aid but cannot afford our taxes. How sad. I went to a city hall meeting and told them that if it didn't stop there will be nothing but the trash and the rich left here. No middle class like us. Again, how sad. Well they can have the benefits of all the love and hard work we put in this house...if we can sell.

we moved from the e side of belleville, close to the fairgrounds, around 8 years ago. that was when my daughter was beginning high school. my son, after 2 years at east, was doing poorly, so rather trhan subject them both to further learning of "thugology", we moved to clinton county...best move we ever made!! you can actually leave your doors unlocked when you leave, we know all the townspeople, and there is virtually no crime!

I honesty can say that i haven't heard a African- American say that the white man is holding them down in about 20 years around the time Malcolm X was the fad.I think i have heard it the most by white people on this web site.Oh and last time i checked every race pay taxes out to support people on welfare including African-American and not to mention white people are on welfare check minnesota a state that is majority white. most African-American don't know there history, the school don't teach them unless they have parent like myself who home school there children about there past.So how can they wine about something they no nothing about. Last time i checked the amount of money that are given to them( public aid, white black etc.) isn't enough to survive off of.
