Does anyone know anything about the reputation of this contractor?

Be very careful with this one. Get references, if possible go see somethings he has done.Call State, County,city offices to inquire to see if they current license and the insurance co that carries WC and liability, CALL VERY VERY IMPORTANT. Or..........any at all and fraudulent papers.
If you are considering hire, GET ALL LICENSE AND CREDENTIALS UPFRONT!!!! Then, Call to VERIFY if the info given is current. SOlD us a huge bill of goods. A nice person, but that isn't what you are considering him for. Be careful promises. Ask to see the P.O ( purchase order) we found swapped roofing felt from 30 lbs to 15 . charged for the 30 lb. experience and the fact we thought licensed, bonded and insured,workman's comp.Insist on an inspector to see the work.Don't let him tell you he can't them up on his job as he did us.Bottom line it was pay time and he wanted out there before inspector came.There were sadly numerous costly mistakes frankly we feel from the breakdown or lack of communication with his crew cost us a lot. Now having to pay to start all over.In short it simply put is a character issue ,meaning a lack of it.We have a filing w the BBB,and the Alabama Home Builder's Licensurers board from Montgomery( State) have launched investigation . I wish I had known this prior to hiring him. We used him based on a BBB rating and neighbor reference. Big mistake! We will be filing a complaint as well.
