WZZM13 - Teen killed in Ionia County crash

Casey VanBuren didnt desirve to die in that accident. She was a beautiful girl, who did everything right, she never gave up on anything. She diserves to live.

I read on TV 8 that she was sitting in the front seat SHARING the seat with another girl - not buckled up. Bless her heart, but she was stupid for doing that.

But this disturbing trend needs to stop. People need to slow down, pay attention and buckle up. This seems to be especially a problem for teens this summer. Someone said she always 'did everything right'....not everything, and unfortunately the decision to share a seat with her friend and not buckle up cost her life.

I know her mom's name is Sandy. Her father is dead.

I am the Grandmother of the girl that Casey was sharing the seat with. I have also had a child that died in a car crash. The thought that your family have also gone through a prior experience with the father, lets me know they have experienced death before, and they will get through it, but they also know they will never be the same. Every time I hear of a child dying, my heart goes out to the parents and friends that know this person. I think of all the lives that they would have touched if they had lived. I have been crying with your pain, and praying, for you and the others in the accident who have lost a wonderful friend. I am so thankful that my grand daughter, nor anyone else, wasn't hurt any worse than they were. I shall pray for you, that GOD will be with you at this time. I'm so sorry for your loss. Casey will be missed by everyone who knew her.
She had a contageous smile and a heart-warming laugh. She was talented and passionate with everything she did.
I am very honored to have known her.

My brother Scott used to hang out with Casey before she died, they used to sit by each other in school and in Marching band. Live like there's no tomorrow as said by Casey VanBuren. her words mean a lot to me, that's why i will be living by them for the rest of my life. The best of wishes to the VanBuren family. Thank you Casey for being such a wonderful person.

They're not awful for writing it.
Truthful.
I didnt know her, but I am from Belding, and I know a lot of people who did.
It's hitting them hard.
But she was still stupid for doing it.
I guess next time, teens will think twice before getting into a car with that Eric kid.

casey i miss you so much, i was on one of my bike rides the other day and i rode past the ditch you were in and my heart stoped and then past your house and i thought i was going to breakdown, i cant beleave ur gone its already been a month and it still doesnt feel real, i spend everynight just thinking of what i could have done to stop it from happening, every time i look down the rd i want to cry i just cant even begin to think of how hard it must be for your really close friends i mean i've only known you for a few years and ashleys known you forever!
