A large part of why Bullitt county has a negative reputation is a lot, not all people from this county are, well idiots. And they're proud of it. I am proud to be from Bullitt county and I may not be VERY well educated but I AM educated enough to use proper English if I were to be interviewed on tv or the radio and to try and be decently dressed when I go out.

But as far as what can Bullitt county improve is roads. There are far too many roads that are to narrow for two trucks to meet without smacking mirrors.

As much as this is going to sound mean, its true: It will take 200+ years of generational change and education that is able to sink into the minds thereof.(So, ok, perhaps 400+ years minimum, and lots lots more.) However, be thankful that it IS occurring. I've seen this change, and change is good. Lets keep our fingers crossed for the future!

i agree with that. I also think we need to change the corrupt legal system this town has.

Amen to that but it's not just one town it's the whole county. Why would a chief of police sit in on a parent/school meeting about a child he knows nothing about and tell that parent what they should or shouldn't do with their child. It's insane!!

Bullitt county needs to improve their police agencies. They need better ways to get the drugs off the streets and keep the habitual drug offender behind bars. Specially the ones that are caught with the very hard drugs and weapons (heroine, meth, crack, pills)

"This guy ran for Constable on the Republican Party ticket. Most all Democrats lost their races in Bullitt Co when Obama ran for President and he beat the Democrat that was the Constable at that time. People pulled the Straight Republican ticket. This is what happends when people dont try to get to know who they are voting for when they vote a straight ticket. I live in Bullitt Co and it is a nice place to live we have troubles like everyone else. Have a great Day."

The police agency cannot do anything more than arrest an offender when the agency has proof of such offense occurring. The law makers who are voted in office are the reason why drug offenders keep going getting out of jail not the police agency. And if drug charges where considered to be a violent crime then something more could be done when a repeat offender goes before a judge. Other wise the issue is with Kentucky law makers that we vote for not police officers who risk there lives got idiots like people on this post

Speaking of drug offenders, how about our county atty that goes easy on offenders by doing everything she can to keep them out of jail. Gives almost everyone home incarceration so that the county gets more $$$ from the offenders. If the convict has a job, truly tries to rehab, I have no problem with this, however, it often is just revolving door justice.

Personally,I feel that if we were to abolish two-percent of the restaurant tax and perhaps give guys like spartan a little more room to play,a few more resources and a little less exposure,,,then Shepherdsville would be perfect by me.

We're currently doing the best we can with available resources. If however you have a plan where we can incarcerate everyone that comes through our doors that simply stands accused, and do so on a fixed budget that allows us to only charge two-percent extra tax at our local restaurants as well as provide a consistently fresh-mowed and snake-free city-park for your children to play in,then please put it together in a substantial but not too lengthy portfolio and list it on this thread so our officials can give it prompt attention.
And for what it's worth, you "can" make a difference.Thank you.

LOL, "We're currently doing the best we can with available resources."

Let's see, where to begin? County budget calling for additional spending for a Finance Officer, salary of $75,000. Maybe if the Judge Executive hired a competent Deputy Judge, that person could do the work of the Finance Officer, instead of just being a campaign assistant. Additional spending being requested for a County Planner of $99,000. Shouldn't this be the job of the Planning and Zoning Commission. Maybe if the County Judge appointed competent people to the various commissions and boards instead of making the appointments based on political motives, we could move the county forward. I also find it amusing that the Deputy Judge is paid more than the County Treasurer. Maybe someone can explain that to me.

How about the County Atty spend less time during Fiscal Court campaigning and telling everyone how hard she works. Spending 45 minutes one meeting telling everyone why she needs a raise to her salary, which is already over six figures. While at the same time we can't afford to pay our EMT's barely $11.00 per hour.

How about the fact that the county does not have a standard employment policy or pay structure. After six years of this Judge, we still have not made any progress.

Limited resources? Sounds like you are in favor of raising taxes. How about we increase resources by bring additional jobs to the county? You know, like the Amazon facility that wanted to build here, bring in additional 2500 jobs, but was voted down to protect the interests of about 30 church members that would have had to go all the way across the street to relocate. Political Pandering maybe. What about the business in LJ that wanted to be able to sell beer at their restaurant? Fiscal court wouldn't even give them an answer, they had to just stand there waiting for an answer that never came.

The problem in Bullitt County is that the Good Ole Boy system is alive and well. There is no leadership. Bullitt County is living proof that you deserve the leadership that you vote in. Time to change the current administration and bring in new faces.

The restaurants are filthy along the I-65 exchange. You have to drive to Moby Dick to find one clean enough to eat at.
