DA Smothermon and the Federal Firearms Laws

In Sept. 2004, a beautiful young woman was killed in Shawnee by her estranged husband. This man had three orders of protection, and three violations of protective orders filed against him. Five of these orders were filed in Pott. County, Shawnee, Ok., by three previous wives and girlfriend.
This man was in violation of the United States Code of having possession of firearms. 18 USC 922(g)(b) and 18 USC 924(a)(2). The penalty being a huge fine and up to 10 years in prison.
Why won't the District Attorney, Richard Smothermon file charges?
This is a question that all the citizens of Shawnee need to ask themselves.

Because D A Smothermon and former County Sheriff Shirey is in bed with Todd moiser and his family and they are above the law.

why did sheriff shirey aid and abet a murderer, by assisting in a cover up, and not obtaining evidence or interviewing witnesses?

What I know is this.....Shirey did not call in OSBI, did not notify the family, did not arrest the perp for firearms violation, did not question the family or friends for several weeks later. He just basically said "there were only two witnesses to the crime and one is dead, we have to take his word for it". I wonder why all crimes aren't handled in this same manner. Of course they may be in Pottawatomie County Oklahoma. That good ole boy system. But you know what???? Smothermon could have called the OSBI immediately had he wanted to, he knew about it almost as soon as it happened.

I just heard that it was said today, by someone at the Attorney Generals office, that the firearms violation does not warrant being pursued because the sentence and fine aren't great enough. I would say a $250,000 fine and up to 10 years in a federal prison would be quite sufficient. What do you think?? Maybe if Oklahoma LE, DA's, Att. General would enforce the Laws that are written to protect, there would be less criminal activity going on in this State of Oklahoma! The Sheriff, District Attorney and the Attorney General are all voted in by the citizens of this State, to serve and protect the people of Oklahoma. It seems they are more interested in serving and protecting the criminals. Be careful who you vote for.
