Full story: Chico Enterprise-Record

The glow hasn't come back to the area's residential construction business yet, but there's definitely a hint of color.

If the stupid banks would just give foreclosures a rest for awhile, and instead negotiate with the buyers to get their monthly payments back down to where they were before "adjusting," the market would pick up much faster.

But the banks want foreclosures so they can capture some of that equity and then sell the whole house. Unmitigated greed nearly destroyed out country. Have we learned anything yet?

An article written for realtors, contractors and bankers to try and dupe the public again into buying more than they can afford. Will we ever learn? If you think we have hit bottom, well you better hold on folks. Try reading farther than the ER.

The Chico housing market is about ready to tank. According to Realtytrack.com , Chico is now the fastes growing forclosure city in America. All the gains have been because of the tax credit and with the loss of over 2,000 students next year, we can say the resession is ending and the depression is beginning. The housing permits issued last month are pathetic and their are too many houses sitting around unsold. Rents are going down and will drop quickly starting next winter.

The only people buying now are the next wave of knife catchers. We just hit a little bump on the way down. Rest assured the declines will resume shortly.

cool let the rents drop in town cause of too much housing... im all for that. Being that there is no where to work in this town that will support me buying a home here... I will need a cheap apartment.

Where is the logic? Who Needs logic? It's the same logic that got us into the economy we have now. Heck, who needs logic when you can line your bank account? You don't need no stinking logic when your bank account balance is high, for awhile. Wait till the people come knocking on the city hall doors wanting to eat. Then you will see all the cops that can't bust a jay-walker out in force. But only for a short while.
