I understand most kids have to learn to fight by the second grade. Such a gentle and quite town.

Cushing is not an evil town. Cushing is a fine town. I grew up over around Drumright and you couldn't be in that area without going to Cushing. Cushing is a nice town with nice people in town and nice people in the surrounding area. It has its share of thugs and dumbasses just as any other town does. Some of my grandest moments occurred in the Drumright-Cushing area when I was growing up. I'm sure that it's same way with many other people that grew up arond there.

This poll has been on going since Feb. 27 at no time has anyone posted a contrived post at 3:00 am and defended Cushing with the word "nice" in one sentence. Perhaps things have changed since you spent your days of wonder in your formative years. The poll results have been 2/3 Yes 1/3 No for some time now and your one vote is noted. In hindsight I should have limited this poll to people born and raised in Cushing. You know its not always the people that make a place creepy sometimes its just the location itself that brings out the worst in people.

I'm not sure where you're trying to go with this. First, I should state that I was raised in Drumright. Drumright and Cushing are very close to one another. Most of the people that live in that area shop in Cushing. My family and extended family came into that area before statehood and are still there. Although I don't currently live in Drumright, I still own land there and go there frequently. I still have many relatives living in the Drumright, Cushing and Stroud area. It is an area like any other area. It has its good side and it has its downside, but all in all, the people of the area are nice hard-working people. Towns change from time to time, they get bigger or they get smaller, but the people of the area tend to remain the same.

If your from Dallas then why are you concerned about Cushing Oklahoma.
My daughter, neices and nephews live in or right out of Cushing.
I personally with all the repeated visits find it very family oriented.
My grandchildren love the town.
I have granchildren whom have lived there and there parents relocated to Wichita Falls, Texas but if they had their preference they would go right back to Cushing.

I'm like the other person what are you driving at.

Beverly why are you concerned about Cushing if your from Singapore? I only created a poll so people could show how they feel. That should be no problem in a free society. Even though I was born and raised in Cushing, Im proud "not" to live there. Do you know of any other midwest town that has a image problem on a national level.

Evidently you have a problem with it.

If your from Dallas then you should defintely know that in this day and time evil lurks everywhere....even small towns like Cushing.

When we took God out of everything then satan stepped in laughing ....

Oh by the way I have no clue where Singpore came from I'm actually a Texan...

Abou 120 miles from Dallas.

I just wondered why you decided to pick Cushing and if something awful had happend to you or one of your family members.

Yes I was scared to death when they had to lock down the schools... not to long ago.

My daugter called frantic.

These things are horrible ...the world itself is full of evil people.

The shame is that you'll have to explain to a child less than ten years old that they should hide or discard their godgiven gentle kindness. Like in most violet backward cultures the preceived weak are mindlessly tortured.

Cushing is a town out out of control with drugs! It's scary to raise our kids here and I would move if I could. I have lived here for many many years, Some years in the past we have had a few drug users or trouble makers but nothing compared to what is going on here now! This is not the same Cushing!

So where would you move to? There's drugs in Cushing, there's drugs in Drumright, There's drugs in OKC, Tulsa, New York, Ardmore, Dallas etc... There's drugs everywhere. If you have some little spot that you think is drug free, then you had better tell no one else. And it probably isn't drug free anyway. Instead of blaming the community you live in, perhaps we should blame the people we vote for. This war on drugs has been an abysmal failure for fifty years that has only fatten the pockets of the privileged elite, your elected officials. Cushing is not any beetr or any worse than most other communities. As far as kids being bullied, there has always been and always will be bullies.

It is often what you choose to see, choose to associate with, and choose to harbor from the past, that defines how things are,( percieved). Take the little boy who was innocent by age, who was thrown into a bad crowd, he associates the town with those memories. Take the family who had great experiences, and the scenario is different. Thus different outcomes, same town. Life often is like this. It is in large how we respond to situations that make it a reality. It is a cut and dry issue. Some have had great experiences, others haven't. Rather majority wins and it is deemed a good or evil town is irrelevent to the one who has nothing but painful memories. On behalf of the children I teach in Cushing and the children I raise in Cushing today, I hope it isn't all that bad, if so, I will change my outlook, IF my students and children are in an evil town, so be it, they will just have to prove that love ALWAYS conquers evil.

Im really not trying to be rude, you have some sweet thoughts, but untrue. Love does not always conquer anything except in fairy tales. I knew these three young people who just died in this town. They were good people and FULL of LOVE.It didn't help them that night and it won't help to teach our children that LOVE conquers all.Every child in this town needs to know how to watch their backs...Love their families and STAY inside their own houses.

Daily Horoscope for December 24

Libra

It's Christmas Eve and you're running around like a scalded cat. However, it will do you no end of good if you can find a few moments here and there for some quiet contemplation. You might want to visit a place that's sacred to you, or take a walk in some beautiful surroundings so you can commune with nature. You need to feel that you're connecting with something bigger than yourself.
