I have more pain today after 1 year 10 months passed since the murder of my niece Carla Lea (Painter) Bussard 9-5-2006 at Becky's Restaurant ans was shot in the head point blank twice by Martha Evelyn Farmer of Bolivia, N.C. In fact there were 3 shots and one missed. Carla Lea was age 36 years and left behind 2 sons and a daughter. Our lives will never be the same and these children will suffer the most. I don't know how to explain this tragic death to them. Yes I must say the astranged husband of Carla Lea's named Wallace Eugene 'Gene' Bussard an ex-policeman and fire fighter for over 20 years at the Cape was behind the killing. He got away with murder and I know he died 11-28-2006 with cancer and never confessed to the police but did he to his other wife and mother is my question now. I pray all the time for everyone in Brunswick County, N.C. and New Hanover County, N. C. for all the families who have had death come their way. Please pray for me and my family for peace.

I am Glenda Campbell Goedde in Fayetteville, TN and I also want to add that Sheriff Ronald Emery Hewett at the time of the murder of my niece Carla Lea Bussard did a fantastic job getting the KILLER off the streets and in prison. you people and your fan club are quit the case.There was NO warrent issued for Gene on the day he died.It was papers concerning his late uncles estate hearing. None of you have a clue you tell what you want and what you want others to beleive.His estate didn't pay for her funeral one because he was broke there was alot of money taken out of his retirement to keep carla out of trouble and there are papers to show.second she had left him early in the year and was with someone elese why didn't that person take care of it.I don't like to talk bad about anyone and sorry she died the way she did, but her life style brought her to that point.any one that really new gene knew he had a good heart and went in to debt for thousands trying to keep her straight and she only soaked him for every penny she could get and when it ran out she dumped him.yes I hate to say gene paid the ultimate price for his choices .God took his life .STOP TALKING about them and let the families miss and love the people they have lost.

To person who quoted this above and I want you to know Capt. Gene Caison told, "that Gene Bussard orcastrated the murder of his wife Carla Bussard for over 18 months. Also Lt. David Crocker answered my question of, Was Gene Bussard involved in the murder of my niece Carla Lea?, and the answer was YES! This is not a joke but the truth. I believe that Gene planned out this murder and Martha may have carried out his plans because she was manipulated by him. I spoke with Lt. David Crocker sometime after Genes death and was told that they were ready to indict him but he died first. How convenient, huh? There probably really is no person named Wayne. Martha just made that up when trying to come up with her story. There WAS probably someone else involved though. Will the truth ever come out?

Truth and Justice for Carla Lea!

Husband Wallace Eugene "Gene / Buzz" Bussard sold his guns 18 months before his wife Carla Lea was murdered in Brunswick County, North Carolina. Since he was an ex-police officer he knew the drill. Just sharing my thoughts today for the Truth of a crime unspeakable to my sweet niece who was my favorite. Since she has gone but life is sad without her and missed greatly.
I wonder how and what do I say to her three children?

Wallace Eugene Bussard called Buzz or Gene. He worked for the Firefighters and his life insurance there was from a government owned facility. Who gets the money when he died? Will let me tell you this all wives or children can claim against this substanual amount he had. Even common law marriages are included also. Therefore, could he have had his wife Carla killed for this money to go to his wife Kathy??? It was legal you know that Carla married him and if he died and she lived then the money was hers or at least a share would have been! This may be the money trail. Let's ask Martha Farmer to see what she thinks in prison for this crime. I will tell you when I find out.

I love and miss my baby girl Carla Lea Painter McElroy Payne Willetts Bussard and has 3 children Joey age 22, Josh age 20 and Aerial age 16. Carla Lea has 1 brother Thomas Floyd Painter, Jr. in Fayetteville, TN Lincoln County. Carla Lea was born 4 November 1969 Fayetteville, TN Lincoln County and was cold blooded murder 5 September 2006 at Becky's resturant by her husband Wallace Eugene (Buzz Gene) Bussard who orchastrated for 18 months and had Martha Farmer kill her with a 2-shoot gun. She shot Carla Lea in the forward but it just knocked Carla Lea down and then she missed the 2nd shot and reloaded another 38 bullet and shot Carla Lea in the left temple and it lacerated her brain and the projectile was in her brain when they did an autopsy. They did a complete autopsy and they took every organ out and weighted it and put it back inside her. They took her brain out and got the projectile. Her husband Gene Bussard was a firefighter at Sunny Point, NC. Gene had served in the Air Force. I am in Wilmington, NC and I am going to Bolivia Monday 2 February 2009 and try and get the answer of how and why did Martha kill my baby girl Carla Lea? This is my 14th trip and I pray that I can get a picture of her also. Carla Lea came to Wilmington, NC in 1994 with her husband Edward Payne, Jr and their 2 year old daughter Aerial Leila Payne but Edward Payne left Carla standing in the street in New Hanover County, Wilmington, NC and took her daughter and Carla Lea never got to hug and be with her 3 children because when you divorce only 1 parent gets the children and hides them. Every day Carla Lea Painter called MOM Linda Lou Campbell and ask me to get the phone numbers of her children so she could talk to them but I could not. I got to see all them when Sheriff Ronald Hewett shipped her body back home to Huntsville, AL and she is buried next to her grandparents and I will be buried beside her someday. I know that I will meet her in heaven someday. Thanks to all that was her fried and helped her and me during this difficult time. I will work on her HOMICIDE until I die. I am now 61 years old and I have survived breast cancer, plastic surgery (tran flap to replace and rebuild my left breast) 8 months of chemo and now I am going to be a survivor for this HOMICIDE.

Carla Lea Payne Bussard's husband Wallace Eugene Bussard did not pay for her funeral or grave stone. He died 12 weeks after Carla Lea and Martha Farmer confessed to the murder and is now serving time in the Women's Prison in North Carolina for 2nd degree murder and 1st degree kidnapping. Maximum time is 28 years.

first check your spelling and grammer.next they were not together why would he pay for her funeral she had left him for someone who had some more money since she had drained him of thousands.its very sad these families have suffered so and still do.

I have a picture of Wallace Eugene "Gene" Bussard. His girlfriend the KILLER Martha Evelyn Farmer called him BUZZ in her letter she wrote him and said, business is business! He was a criminal and got Martha to do the killing called HATE CRIME! She shot Carla Lea in the forehead and left gun impression mark; also, this was cold blooded. Only a friend can get that close to a person to do this. There is no telling if Gene didn't pull the trigger on one of those shots. You don't have to be at a crime scene to be the KILLER for there were KILLERS involved!

Gene Bussard left a large substantual life insurance amount told to us by his boss and none other than Kathy Bussard got this money. This was the reason nobody could be left alive to get his money. By the way this was NOT HIS PENSION!

I pray that Martha Evelyn Farmer will open up and tell the facts of this crime to you all. She is the only one living to do so. God forgives and so do I for I pray for all the families daily.

I am greatful for knowing the truth that I have spoken on this crime of hate to my dear niece Carla Lea. I will never forget for I have my many memories and I also have made friends in and around Wilmington and Leland, North Carolina.
