You have my deepest sympathy Carmichael family. Though your mother and daughter had an addiction to mind altering substances she was a part of all of you and I know you will feel this loss the rest of your lives. We all must declare that because some of us are vulnerable and subject to addictive behavior it does not mean any of us are disposable. I grieve with you and I pray for you.

I did the previous post. Let me say I also pray for the law enforcement oficers who are always blamed and second guessed after the fact. No one in their right mind would have ever considered such a situation was going on in that house. I hope after the authorities are finished with the investigation that place is torn to the ground.

everyone Is asking who should be also held accountable I believe that the police officers should be. Along with any major offical person. First of all Why werent they checking up on him entering his house when they came to speak with him and his pass actions. How can they not take into consideration the Two females that got away. He not only did it once but three or four times before. My heart Goes out to all the families.

This is what we were saying the other day. I would bet that most of these women they find were drug users, prostitutes and homeless. My sympathies to the family. No one deserves what happened to her.

Who should be held accountable? The perpetrator of the crime. How do you overlook the fact that this slug committed murder, then wish to blame the authorities? A whol;e lot went wrong here, from preying on women who were hampered by substance abuse, to slippage in the system. Some of the victims hold a little culpability in this as well. It is a horrible shame that these folks died, but first and foremost we have to look out for ourselves.

Because without a search warrant, they cannot enter anyone's residence without their permission.

Yeah, if a drug user dies, even in a murder case, cops do not investigate(enough). Police need to do their job! There's 2 cases in Cuyahoga Co. I know that were ignored by invesigators. The case concerning my daughter, the coroner said to me, "I'm not Columbo". Meaning the investigator on T.V. show. May God rest the deceased's souls, strenthen the families involved and I hope Anthony Sowell gets the worst of worst done to him!

Part of the problem is when people watch TV, it is scripted and glamorized. They always get their man. An actual police investigation is more difficult. Evidence isn't always as forth coming. Police try to do their job. I don't think people give the police enough credit for what they do. I am sorry about your daughter and I understand that you will never think they do enough until they find out what happened. But we do need to be realistic. There is more than one murder, disappearance, etc. for them to investigate.

Here's an idea take your family member that is into drugs and lock them up and clean them up and stop already.
You say the cops are to blame they uphold the law and can't search unless a judge grants them a search warrant.
Well maybe the buck stops with the family. Parents and adult children cousins etc. of these drug users to get them help before a sicko gets them and kills them ......but then a ghetto family will not because parents aunts and uncles and all the kids will be high at all their gathering.

Grow up people drugs kill.

My prayers go out to the Carmichael family. It does not matter what type of life the victim led she was still someone's mother, aunt, grandmother, sister, friend, etc. Man does not have the right to take what he has not given and that is life. I hope that the Carmichael family finds comfort thru it all...

Have you looked up the word enabler......http://www.wisege ek.com/what-is-an-enabler.htm

Yes, I do believe that their many family members that don't get high but then they are sitting in their houses having giving up on the family members that do. I've seen and worked with these people trying to help and the drug addicts know that its the family that keeps supplying them to keep them high. ENABLERS LOOK UP THE LINK, WHILE DRINKING YOUR TEA OR COFFEE. THEN FIND THAT FAMILY MEMBER OR SEVERAL AND GO DO SOMETHING.

DRUGS KILL DON'T YOU GET IT??? STOP HIDING YOU HEAD IN THE SAND.

Fist and foremost I would like to share my thoughts and prays with ALL the families and pray for for them.
NOW, I think and believe that the cleveland police dept did NOTHING!!! and I mean NOTHING!!!! to even help these families locate thier missing relative what so ever. And this is because of the nature and or life style that these woman my have,or may NOT have chose to live. BUT, That does NOT justify the police for NOT doing their job(s)..No matter what, These are human beings and should be respected as such. I feel that this is bias and profiling the victims to where there is NO respect to the families and the their loved ones.
And for the police chief himself to say what he said to the public and families about the life style these woman lived would make the case easier is a bunch of B.S.
Now, Everyone in offices is trying to point the finger at each other so no one takes the blame for NOT doing their jobs.
Its what they do best, COVER UP THEIR TRACKS!!!
And they ALL are the blame. For the 1st time the police recieved a call to that house and did NOTHING!!!
Again, Profiling the victim.
But the police will beat you down for drinking a beer on the street or a traffic stop.
The Cleveland police dept is wrong from day one.
And they wonder why???
Before I'd call them for help I would handle the situation myself.
And end up with a better result.
God bless the families and the community

Just a little more information for you who should be called DUHMB . The woman who was identified was reported missing in Warrensville Hts. and not in Cleveland. Guess you must be one of those who hates cops not matter what. Hope you never need them.
