It is very important to take the time necessary to make what is hopefully the right choice; then it is more important if the person doesn't work out to replace them (FCC is having an issue with this one). It takes a while to work your way through and find the right person.

However, working too slowly runs the risk of losing potentially strong candidates. Frankly, I wouldn't want the City Manager job in Aztec. City government is so dysfunctional and has been for years. I wonder if the two candidates who withdrew did some vetting of their own and discovered just how dysfunctional and odd this city really is.

They took a hard look at the dysfunctional City Commissioners, realized the cold hard facts and withdrew. Smart choice.

Farmington's Mayor and City Council have definitely gone into rogue trading. They do not listen to the citizen's, only those that serve their own interests.
This is why the selection of the City Manager is so important to the community.
You definitely do not want to wind up with a City Manager, as Farmington has done, that is only a pupet for the rogue traders.

Daily Horoscope for December 31

Virgo

Someone is being headstrong and wilful, and absolutely determined to do what they want. Mercury is retrograde and it's a Full Moon in Cancer with a lunar eclipse all happening tonight! This could lead to some heated discussions and possibly even rows, as you argue the toss back and forth. It might be best to accept that there's very little possibility of reaching an agreement rather than to get locked in a stubborn battle of wills. Besides, you don't want anything to spoil what promises to be a very enjoyable New Year's Eve. Have fun!
