Well Joe, they probably don't want to give you any records because you're a muckraker and the only things you've ever written about them are negative. Maybe if you were a respectable publication they'd open their books. You clearly have a personal grudge with Esch, which was made VERY public with your absurd response to the letter to the *editor* he wrote earlier this year. Also, last time I checked, you weren't even a member of the Tennessee Press Association, so I'm just sure that their lawyer is bending over backward to help you sort this out. And in the grand scheme of running a fire department, $200,000 a year is nothing, and $50 for a qualified firefighter (or professional of any kind) IS in fact a STIPEND... haha, although be sure not to let your staff hear that.
