Gym Gets Cool Addition

While the district claims to have no money, they built a new press box at the football field. While the schools "request" a list of supplies and money from parents, the middle school gym was redone. Is it even ten years old? They're also upgrading the high school gym.

Don't know about the middle school, but I heard the high school is getting a bigger gym, because the school is busting at the seams. They have over 1200 students there, and they need the room for ball games, assemblies, etc.

Before you start condemning everything, maybe you should do some fact checking.

Well, I agree with Joke! Shouldn't the funds be available to all, equally? Supplies that are needed end up having to come from the parents, who end up complaining about having to buy them. Sit at one of those assemblies, ball games, etc. and you hear the other half of the parents complaining. The way I see it, at one point, anything that is done turns into a complaint.Since it is a no win situation let us put the children first. Sports is considered extraCURRICULAR, make it EXTRA. Curriculm does not have anything EXTRA in it! In fact, it is mandated by our federal government. If it is mandated and ALL children have to attend, in one form or another, make it the FIRST priority. Yep, this includes and benefits athletes too. Now, that is a win win situation!
