Joseph Bailey wrote: <quoted text> Oxygen does not explode-are you serious? It is the one and only reason that fire happens. For without it there is no fire. My goodness, what an moronic statement but then again is exactly what an addict will say to defend their addiction. LOL go back to chemistry class, as usual you are wrong again. No oxygen does not explode. Yes the more oxygen the faster and hotter the burn but no it does not explode. Now mix it with say hydrogen and you will get an explosion. Lets see you flunked when it comes to the cost of smokers on society and now you flunked chemistry are there any more courses you would like to flunk.

I would also add that the oxygen used by patients is not pure oxygen it just has a higher concentration then normal air. Pure oxygen is not healthy and will kill you. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oxygen_toxicity

Joseph Bailey wrote: <quoted text> Like I said, typical smoker. You do not care that your addiction creates an unsafe working environment for those who work at a bar. I would like for you to walk into any bar and say that well-being for an employee is bull. You won't because you are a coward who hides behind the thrill of an addiction. Add in that secondary smoke does in fact kill, means nothing to you because your addiction trumphs everything else in your life. It does not matter to any smoker whose health they harm because feeding that addiction is the one and only issue of importance in your pathetic addict life. You can try to digress, change the subject, so forth but it will never change the truth that YOU and every smoker are ADDICTS. Nothing will ever change that 100% TRUTH-you are an addict, no different from the crack head or meth head leaving their children out to get hurt. I feel sorry for you being so upset. The workers ploy was carefully calculated by your organizations. It's a facade. You pointing fingers at smokers being addicts pales in comparison to your addiction for control. Thing is you can never get enough of it. If every smoker stopped smoking on this entire planet it would never be enough for your kind.

However, like an addict what you do, as does all addicts, is attempt to deflect the focus off of your addiction and onto something else. You cannot face your addiction so you try to make yourself feel better by named-calling others. However, you are still an addict and always will be until you stop using tobacco.

Why don't you try a real chemistry textbook or course first and see what you actually learn about oxygen in the process. Also, if wiki is the best reference you've got chief, then get a real education before you post again.

The addict card is getting old. It has lost meaning because in today's world everyone who does something that the PC people do not like gets tagged with the label of addict. One can be a shopping addict, a chocolate addict, a tv addict, etc. So, the fact that you call smokers addicts is meaningless. So be it. WTF cares what you people call others. Deal with your own life and stay out of others' personal lives.

Deal with your own life and stay out of others' personal lives. Actually, it isn't meaningless. All those other so-called "addictions" you mentioned aren't physical dependencies. I don't know anyone who gets the shakes or whose attitude gets really nasty if they can't shop, eat chocolate, or watch TV. Smokers, on the other hand, have such a problem. So, to reiterate, it is not meaningless to call smokers addicts. The only thing that's meaningless here is your attempt to set up such a diversion in an effort to make your addictive crutch seem to have less of a hold on you. Well, you failed on an epic scale. Sorry.

I notice that you do nothing but spew tobacco control propaganda with no science to back it up but if you insist. Here; http://www.courses.vcu.edu/MED300FP-gso/RTH14... now show me that oxygen is explosive. Not that it is necessarily for combustion or that combustion is accelerated in oxygen rich environments but that it is explosive.

Signed, an addict. Excellent. It's good to see that you've come to grips with your addiction, Ms. Addict. Now go smoke a cigarette. It's obvious at this point that you are clearly in need of its comfort and sanctuary.

I choose NOT to smoke. And I do not want your second hand smoke fored into MY lungs. When you smoke in public then when you exhale you have no control over where that smoke goes. So therefore YOUR mistake is foreced upon all the inncoent people who have the right to breathe clean and unpoluted air.
