Handsome Dispute Turns Ugly

Aug 6, 2011 | Posted by: roboblogger | Full story: Patch.com

A developer contends town zoning officials were so angered by an affordable housing plan he wanted to bring forward, that they conspired to block an extension on a special permit for a separate industrial project - which had already been approved.

Monroe P&Z has been a mess for years and years. I am surprised that there has not been far more law suits? Project that received approval should have never gotten it and others that deserved approval were totally rejected before they even received a fair chance to be heard.
Certain engineers and individuals got almost anything through, others received nothing but rejection from the start and it continued until their project went away??

Just so everyone understand I have NO wish to play politics and I am not posting this for that purpose. My only concerns are for the individuals that have been treated unfairly and for the future of Monroe.
Many years ago I met an experienced realtor from out of this area who was in total disbelief with how she was treated at Monroe Town Hall. She clearly stated that actions allowed by P&Z were illegal and reduced the value of my property!?? She did not even represent my interests but represented the a potential buyer!!! She was really upset and extremely honest which I greatly respected and appreciated. Of course due to legal costs, there was nothing that could be done and some at P&Z understood that.
Over the years I have met others who also told me similar horror stories with some individuals in P&Z. Some are now gone from P&Z but it it sounds like the problem remains.
Thank You for being a truly honest individual and for holding the line against this type of behavior. I know it does not pay in dollars but it does earn you respect.
As far as Connecticut is concerned I think its clearly time to move to a state where you can have everything that's available here, but for far less. The struggle of living here is no longer worth the cost to survive here.

But that is the just problem. Too many Ostriches in the dark..not making the time to hold those in violation ACCOUNTABLE! Few speaking out, or doing anything Proactive to change the complexion of corruption in CT...Few is NOT ENOUGH! Therefore most are voting with their feet beating it on out of "Corrupticut"! That is why the EVIL DOERS WIN! They know they can and so they DO!

AGAIN IT IS NOT JUST MONROE!! It is MOST ALL OF CT!!
Few places in CT play it lgal, just, straight up...like Orange,CT...Trumbull,CT..they stick their "affordable" Avalon type stuff on borders. Trumbull for instance is a great example of NIMBY impacting the adjoining cities/towns utilizing BPT & Stratford Streets..never placing non conforming new construction smack dab in the middle of residential high end..NOPE! Old Town Rd BPT/Trumbull...Hawley Lane Stratford/Trumbull are PRIME examples...Now on to Fairfield, specifically Sacred Heart U...Dorms on border of BPT one dorm in BPT.. WTH?? Utilizing BPT PD streets etc..now hearing they may take over Notre Dame HS bldg...

Yes, how do they get away with it? Pretty simple, these are the people who have been hired to protect the public from these crimes , prejudices and greed. Instead the people in power are the ones doing the crimes. It CLEARLY goes all the way to Hartford for the last twenty years with Blumenthal. His wifes family owns stuff like the Empire State Building and a LOT of Media, like big shares of TV. That is why you heard good stuff about him and not the truth. Truths such as from day one when he said he was going to teach the dumpers a lesson, that they can't dunp on Connecticut! That was his public statement from a podium in Bpt. Regarding the mass dumping the Cappoziellos had done which includes Mt. Trashmore. NOBODY paid a dime on Mt. Trashmore despite what you find online, oh, more lies in the media. Only FEDERAL FUNDS have done a PARTIAL cleanup there. I talked with the people that live there. Another Huge suit was dismissed by Blumenthal. Got the Cappoziellos out of about 25 million bucks of clean-up and fines and the DEP covers this up. Newtowns Town Offices cover this up, ALL OF THEM!!. Health, Wetlands even the Building Dept. No Permits to renovate a house at 46 Birch Hill with about $50,000.00 in back taxes due. The bank even sold the house back for $1.00 it's so polluted. It's all in the town land records. The other stuff that most people don't know about Blumenthal , besides his ties to illegal dumping, is that he gave his ex-partner $250,000,000.00 to do some state work. That's a quarter BILLION Bucks. Then there are the trips he took with an entourage around the country on the state dime and the other multitude of lawyers to do state work while we paid for him to go galavanting around the country. So any Attorney you might hire could and has, made it look like they are doing their job until the twelfed hour when they fail and you are screwed and it benefits the state or their buddy. It is now a community with twenty years of practicing control and theivery. The retro-active tax is the newest example. Oh, don't forget Blumenthal also signed and approved ALL the contracts that got Roland investigated and tossed in jail.

Hi, Thank you! I still don't understand why there isn't any kind of state or federal inverstigation into the Attorney Generals Office for this grotesque amount of "spending". Basically, we as a state have been robbed by him and McKinney,(Appropriations Commitee), for the last twenty years. The corruption in the DEP IS criminal as well, how else could this many people dump this much toxic garbage in our state and get away with it? Then there is the graft, bribery and payoffs in the DOT. The crooked road contracts....

I understand and agree, but one or even a couple of individuals is not enough to get the job done. You have to have large resources to begin with. Unless there a large group nothing changes. I have tried in the past with several in my group the only one that made out was the attorney. He was only interested in the money and did not care about winning or loosing or what was right or just. The other side just laughed and was even getting paid to show up at court. Not what I would call justice.
I find it amazing on how the evil cover for each other but those of us who are fighting for what right seem to always stand almost alone?
I do feel that those who mistreat others will be judged one day, by the highest and only real authority. My own personal beliefs are we all should be judged on how we treat others before we are judged for anything else.

AMEN! With you all the way. It is frustrating, heartbreaking, disgusting...You appear to be as wonderful person of decency and integrity..IN THESE TIMES a club with few members or so it appears..But you & yours know that by now...That is what is so disheartening for me & mine as well.

I'd like to have some names of the people who did those alledged deeds. The more crooks we can shed light on, the more of us will know what we are dealing with. Like Herb Rosenthal, has that crappy little elected post so he can qualify to be head of the HRRA. In charge of a lot if not all of the Housatonic area garbage. Driver from past wetlands commitee, seems there is or was a Susan Driver in charge of hiring at the DEP. Maybe that's how so many crooks got to work there. State Senator John McKinney is or was on both the Aquisition and State Environmental Commissions, getiing that money for the crooked contracts and making sure the illegal dumping wasn't prosecuted. Even had a woman living in an illegal landfill working for one of the family businesses as a real estate agent. We should all put a few names of the crooked state leaders up here.

There was a murder in Pope Park, Hartford. Or do some research on a gangster named Rick "The Ruler" out of Hartford. It will yield some surprises. It's not uncommon for Feds and States attorneys to let or overlook their snitches while they commit felonies commit. Very sickening stuff.
