I know several exterminators in the area which are apending a lot of money buying special fogging machines that will exterminate some of the huge problem, but they have to run 24 hours at each room. Sleep tight don't--well I guess you know the rest, or at least you will Know it TOO well after our stay National Parks Resort Lodge...that place is a health hazard.

Here in Dville wrote: NO do not stay at that Motel 6 in Pigeon Forge. I saw a post where someone suggested it. You can hear every little noise known to man in that place. I stayed there one night last yr., because the hotel we wanted was booked for that one night. The lady across the hall from us came in around 2am, and she literally woke everyone up on that entire floor with her loud mouth. The walls there are paper thin. The place was clean, but the fact that you can hear people in the room next to you sneeze is a bad sign. Believe it or not I really do like the Colonial House motel there in Pigeon Forge. The prices are very affordable, and they have an indoor pool as well. They have standard rooms all the way up to suites. I also like the Bearskin Lodge over in Gatlinburg. I go up there to visit atleast 2 times per yr. I will stay in a chalet at times, and I always use Chalet Village. I like the ones they rent out over in Cottage gardens. You got that right. I have stayed in the Colonial house over 20+ times. Great service and clean rooms every time. I rate it a 14 on a scale of 10.

I have been a visitor to this area for 30 years now. I have stayed in alot of hotels in the pigeon-forge area and have to say as the years have gone by the more run down it gets. The business's are all ran by foreigners that have trouble speaking the english and the place has been becoming more touristy then ever. The shows are good but to advertising and pushing to buy their junk and priced to high ah hm-comedy barn! Wonder works is great when the exhibits work. The last time I was there we stayed at the lazy bear motel and it was clean and had nice tv's but I could hear the neighbors doing it. Dollywood is overpriced and sucked and so does splash country. The only thing worth a hoot there is the food at the old mill, cooter's place or a beer from hogs n honey's. other then that you can have it

Unhappy Visitor wrote: I want to inform anyone going to Pigeon Forge not to stay at the Riveria. I stayed there with my family and it was the grossest place I have ever stayed at. First of all, the room wasn't even cleaned, it had dried up snot on the wall, the coat/clothes hanger on the wall was repaired with a piece of 2x4 nailed in the drywall and the airconditioner froze up and it was never fixed for our entire stay. The hotel wouldn't refund our money, nor put us in another room. This was my very first visit to Pigeon Forge and it didn't set very well considering I have heard a lot of good things about that place and Tennesse, so to have a hotel on the strip that was that nasty and the people who ran the hotel were extremely rude and hateful, even using profanity when I confronted them on the problems with our room was not a welcomed stay. If we ever go to Pigeon Forge, I will research the hotels before making a reservation and I highly recommend that anyone else, do the same. Sincerely, Unhappy visitor Try the Grand Hotel next time. Lots of good Hotels there in Pigeon Forge, just shop around. Try Pigeon Forge again and I hope you have better luck next time.

The Riviera is owned by Ken Seaton, and is a disgusting property along with most of the other hotels he owns. Never stay at any of the Family Inns, Smoky Shadow, Riviera, Trent Motor Lodge, or the Grand Inns. They are all really gross. The best are Music Road and the The new Christmas place inn.

The Grand hotel is owned by Ken Seaton as well. That one isn't as bad, but I would avoid it, just to keep the money from going to him.

Sincerely, Unhappy visitor I can not appoligize for the Hotel of your choice! But I do feel for you, I'm not a Native I relocated here about 3 years ago, Do to the fact that when my husband and I visited here we fell in Love with this place! On your return visit, If you do return maybe you should try getting a chalet in Gatlinburg, We use to rent one several times a year until we relocated here and now we have purchased our own! some good companies would be "Mountain Laurel" "Mountain Rentals of Gatinburg" and "Mountain rentals & reality" they are not much more exspinsive than a room and you have way more privacy! Also you can go to http://www.vrbo.com So sorry about your experience, there are really alot of good folks here guess you had to meet the wrong ones!
