Please stop building rental cabins in my home town. I am born and raised here and never in all my 38 years have I seen such a mess in this area. There sould be some kind of law to protect our trees so we can breathe better. We are killing the air that we breathe by cutting down our oxygen. This town looked better in the pictures that my "papaw" had in his days in Gatlinburg. I am raising a family of five, hiding in the mountains, trying to get away from the polution and "express way," our parkways in this county has become. Look at all the T-shirt shops and gift shops. What ever happened to the drive-in where Kentucky Fried Chicken is today. That was great!!!! I miss those days in the late 70's here in Sevier County. It looks like progress and greed took this county into a more tourist trap than we bargained for. The pay is not even that good, unless you work in an office with an education. If you don't have money or a higher education than a high school education, you will be like me. Working two jobs trying to pay a morgage so you will have something to pass along with your heirs. I am not an unhappy person, I just love nature and wished my children could see what my eyes saw when I was a child. The mountains looked so peaceful with all those trees on them. Now they are nothing but an eyesore for most of us 'real' locals. To this last statement I will leave you with thought, "Take away our trees and mountains, what is left? Not the Great Smokey Mountains, but the Great Smokey Cabins."

Dollywood realy sucks!! I go a couple of times every year because I have 4 children spaced out 5 years apart. If it wern"t fer that I would never spend one second more of my life there. It is nothing but a shit hole. It amazes me that they can make the entire payroll and there electric bill from what they take in for parking. The only nice thing about it is that they keep the entire place clean. Ever go to six flags? Not only is it a rip off but its a filthy nasty dirty rip off. We got thre 15 minutes after opening and there was trash all over the ground stinking nasty trash with lots of flies and yellow jackets buzzing around it.Damm it for what admission and food cost you think the could hire some idiots to pick that shit up once in a while

WTF? Dollywood is fairly priced for what is offered there. It has the same drawbacks as any theme park, but it is no worse. All of this whining is silly. And that zippy guy. He hates it but goes a couple of times a year? Tool!

@Mousey: Hell yes. I agree with you. One of my family members works for a pest control company that has to spray many of the cabins in the Gatlinburg-Pigeon Forge area. It's ridiculous. He takes on around 70 cabins a month to spray, not counting the callbacks, the cabins he has to spary when he's on call, and not to mention, that's just his route. Anyways, on to the topic, Dollywood is good for the tourist economy of Pigeon Forge, but it sucks for the rest of us in Sevierville, because we get the fatrolls and morons that clog up our roads and streets, that as well don't have any common sense. Honestly, I had nearly 2 accidents already today, and it's not even a tourist weekend.

Dollywood still sucks but, I will clairify my earlier post. I do go a couple of times a year because my wife gets free passes from her employer. I still hate the place, but I love my children and I too was a child once. That said I grumble a little and in the end I make the most of our visits and have fun with my children. I do enjoy the mystery mine, thunderhead, and a host of other rides. I may not enjoy the freakishly long waits in line for Mystery mine or the miles and miles of pavement I cover while there but, I did make a point to figure out what I realy hate about dollywood. It actualy surprised me and showed me what I realy like about it. Things I hate about Dollywood. 1 The trafic nightmare location. 2 Having to pay to park at a place already raking in the bucks. 3 The wickedly overloadedness of the place- you can't even walk. 4 When the park is near closing you are hearded like cattle into a stall to wait for the only ride to your car.

Hey Stupid, you need to learn how to spell you God Damn Idiot! Thanks for supporting a child Molester. FORMER DIXIE STAMPEDE WORKER PLEADS NOT GUILTY TO SEX CHARGES Published: July 12, 2006 CATEGORY: AP STATE SEVIERVILLE (AP)— A former employee of Dolly Parton's Dixie Stampede pleaded not guilty Monday to charges of fondling child performers at the dinner theater. Armando Martinez Gonzales, 32, will be tried on 12 counts of aggravated sexual battery on Nov. 16, Circuit Judge Rex Ogle said. Gonzales fled to Mexico after his indictment in 2004 but returned to the United States and was arrested March 1 in Nashville, N.C. He is now being held on $1 million bond. He is charged with molesting four victims under age 13 in November 2004. Each count carries a prison terms of eight to 12 years if convicted. "We need to make this man an example in our community. We're not going to put up with that with our children" said Barbara Gordon, who claims her 11-year-old son was violated by Gonzales. Kerry Manners said her 8-year-old daughter also was a victim. "She's so young and she's afraid," Manners said. "Now I have to tell my daughter that she has to come and face him (in court)." SEVIERVILLE — Dixie Stampede has settled a civil suit filed by parents who say their children were molested by an assistant there in 2005. Armando Martinez Gonzalez, an undocumented immigrant, took a "best interest" plea to multiple charges of aggravated sexual battery last year. The plea means he did not admit guilt but acknowledged the state had enough evidence to convict him. Judge Rex Henry Ogle sentenced him to nine years in prison. The families of his four alleged victims, all of whom where younger than 13, filed a civil complaint against Dixie Stampeded and against Gonzalez. That complaint came to an end Jan. 30, according to court documents, when Judge Richard Vance approved a settlement among the parties during a closed hearing. "Based on this finding and order of the court, the terms of the compromise ... shall extinguish all claims that were brought and those that could have been brought in the actions filed herein by the minors and their parents." The terms of the settlement were not included in court documents. Pete Owens, spokesperson for Dixie Stampede, said the order marks the conclusion of the litigation on the case. "Our understanding is that the recent filings with the court are the end of this matter," he said. "We have no comment on the proceedings. Come to Piggy Forge and let the Dolly Pig's Illegal Aliens entertain your children this year.

So take the long walk to your car & quit crying. At least they offer you a ride, so guess what, you wait with everyone else, what do you want along with your FREE tickets, a private limo? Most theme parks don't offer any transportation to your car, the lines move fast & at the end of the day, they are appreciated by most of us. If you find entertainment without lines & without people, it wouldn't be able to stay in business & wouldn't have much to offer. Surely you know that's how they keep things running & certainly not by waiting for a few patrons each year, with FREE tickets. Bet your kids would enjoy it alot more if you stayed home & they didn't have to hear you grip about your FREE day. I don't have FREE tickets, but enjoy what I pay for each time, if it's not your thing, don't go, try giving your FREE ticket to a family that's out of work & would appreciate a FREE day at Dollywood. Last I heard, you still have freedom of choice, & nobody is making you use that FREE ticket. Of course your also entitled to your opinion on here, just looks like you would think first since it's not mandatory you go & if you have a better solution than Dollywood has come up with as to transportation lets hear it, bet if you were taking that long walk at the end of the day you'd be even more unhappy.
