Well this guy Mike got the story wrong about Porter. Porter did go to the ravens bus and challenged Lewis to a fight. Lewis declined to get off the bus because Porter is bigger, meaner and a tougher street fighter than Lewis. Lewis knew it too that's why he stayed on the bus. Lewis is mean on the field thats a fact but in a street fight no way he wants a piece of Joey. Thats just the facts and there isn't no other way to tell that story. It might make some Ravens fans mad but you can't rewrite history.

i think it may have had more to do with inteligence. lewis knew better than to get involved in some kind of juvenille fight with a hot headed d.a. like porter. why risk any kind of league/team suspensions or fines.

Isn't Mike Preston the guy who wrote after the first Pittsburgh-Baltimore game that Pittsburgh was done and it would be Cleveland and Baltimore fighting for the division?

no problem buddy! A pittsburgh cop I know was there at the team bus and saw the whole thing. But I guess you are right about Lewis not wanting to get arrested and all. Lewis is a mean sun of a gun but he's a smart one too! Still he must have had to chew his neighbors arm off in frustration getting shown up in front of his teammates and all. Porter is one mean dude and nobody tries to fight him and gets away without a shiner or two. just ask that running back from the browns! ha ha ha.

Good point about the coaches.

I know it makes the media's job harder but the way these two coaches have had the players shut up this week is commendable.

Who would have thought, "Shut up and Play" would work for either of these teams. How did the coaches pull that one off?

I am not sold on Harbaugh as a head coach but he must have some influence or "buy-in" to keep the troops in check and out of the sound bites for Steeler week. Same goes for Tomlin.

Not used to it, it is eerily quiet ...

Gee, do you think the Pittsburgh cop might have given you a little bit slanted view of what happened that day at the bus? Joey Porter is best at fighting after the whistle, and taking cheap shots at guys during warmups or when they are hurt (like Todd Heap in 2006.) You won't see a pseudo- bully like Porter take on Lewis in the Baltimore parking lot.
Ray saves his emotion and intensity for between the white lines. Why do you think the Steelers let Porter walk?
Nice try.

Hey man I got no reason to think my bud is a liar. He's not that kinda guy. no reason for him to make stuff up he's a cop and has seen it all, believe me. anyway I guess ol Lewis just sat there and let Porter bad mouth him. Must have been hard for him to swallow. One thing we know he stayed on that bus and he's lucky he did. Porter ain't no one you would want to mess with in a street fight. Greg Loyd was the same way only worse. Anyway it don't matter what matters is Sundays game and it will be fun to watch the Steelers get win 11!

Yeah...either between the white lines or the streets of Atlanta, hiding behind his 'posse.' That's a real man.

Obviously Ray has grown up and wisened up over the years while Porter is still a thug. Ray brings it on the field and Sunday will be a war to savor. If you think we're going to fold up like Tony Homo last week, you're wrong. Flacco just gets better as the year goes on.

What's this about Parcell's out of control ego? Whatever ego he has, it isn't out of control, as the guy turns around teams, repeatedly, and continued to do that this year with the Dolphins. From laughing stock to playoff contender in a year (tied for 1st in their division after 13 games).

Seems the only out of control ego in this discussion is Preston's.

It's amazing how skating on a murder charge can change the perspective for an NFL star. Unless your name is OJ.

let me point out i am a steelers fan first. what ray did on the field that day was classless. porter had been shot in the ass during a driveby shooting after watching his college team. to go on the field and mock him after being shot was classless. porter went to the bus but ray wouldnt get off. that is when he showed class. i wouldnt want to pick sides ray lewis is a black belt and porter is just nasty. not sure you can say one would beat the other
