So let me see if I have this straight? Both groups knew what they were in for? WREG you have your head on crooked. How can someone know they're in for a severe beating to near death with a baseball bat?

People have a disagreement. People get mad at each other. They meet to settle their differences. It happens every day in this country, probably hundreds of times a day. What doesn't happen is when these people meet, one group is "hidden" in the woods with baseball bats to beat someone down like the bunch of thug cowards they really are.

They were meeting to settle out some differences. Understandable. The thug crew waited in ambush with weapons and almost killed two people. Not understandable.

Vince and them were ready to settle things like men. The Jones's and Jordan handled things like gang banging thug cowards.

I still hope they rot in prison for the rest of their lives.

You are exactly right hacksaw. WREG it is really sad that you have to downgrade these young men. The victims were going to fight, FIST TO FIST, they had no clue they were gonna be beaten with baseball bats. What human being would go somewhere knowing they were about to get beaten to death? They are young men, that's what they do sometimes, no it isnt right to plan to fight but you making it seem like the victims are bad guys and are asking for it is ridiculous. There is a boy fighting for his life and you are putting him down. I hope it makes you sleep better at night to know that you are trying to destroy the victims. The people you should be calling bad guys are the "boys" who had baseball bats and fully intended on beating Vince and Larry. I will never watch your news channel again and hopefully none of the friends of the victims will either.

Wreg, I do not feel like you were trying to downgrade the victims in this terrible tragedy. Just stating the facts of the ongoing investigation. My heart goes out to all of the family's involved in this case because it has changed all of their lifes forever. I do hope that our young teens and even young adults have learned a valuable lesson from this somehow. I hope and pray for a full recovery for all that were injured. No one will win or loose in this whole tragedy. Please keep these families uplifted in your prayers...

blame wreg for telling all sides of an investigation, jeez u people need to get a life.
You all talk like fist fighting is a normal, healthy everyday activity. Where? In what, 3rd world countries? Theres enough blame to go around for everybody. NO these guys shouldn't have used baseball bats to fight, matter of fact who in their right mind is out after midnight looking for a fight. Matter of fact who is out looking for a fight period. One of the news stations said one of these guys that got hit is only been out of prison 8 weeks and on parole. Hacksaw, I've seen/read all your posting here and on the other threads. You claim to work for MDOC. Arent parolees required to stay away from trouble, not to fight, be around alcohol, characters of ill-repute,(everyone claims the bat wielders were known thugs) not be out after midnight looking for a fight you've been challenged to? Since you work for MDOC are you not required to notify them of this situation?

i am a family member of vince's. just to set some things straight they did not have any idea what they were going into. what teenage guy do you know that is going to back down to a fight? i cant say that i can name many. they had no idea that they were about to walk into this. they were completely caught off guard by grown men hiding in the woods like the cowards they are all armed with bats ready to attack them. vince was going to help settle a dispute that one of his friends had with this group of men. what that problem was or how they ever were talking to these scum bags we do not know. i do know that vince was just trying to be a good friend and have his friends back. vince is doing better tonight at lebonheur. he is going to pull through this, even though that the news is making it sound like he is basically about to die any second now. we have received nothing but improvements from vince since surgery.

our prayers are with Vince and his family, but just one question: why arent they showing the 15 year old and including him in the investigation, which is Adam Jones, he is the one who we have experienced vandalism and robbery from under our carport, on numerous occasions. he should also be tried as an adult, the Jones Family has been a problem in our community in Nesbit since the early 90's and all this is finally catching up to them, THANK GOD, and if God willing, have mercy on their souls, I will continue to pray for their salvation. Thank you

It's quite pitiful that as a local news station trying to get people to watch and stay tuned for the latest dramatic updates, you are now providing the public with bad information. I'm certain this is not the first time and will not be the last. For us that have moved off, we are still able to get our updates online if the whole family has their cell phone off at the hospital. Unfortunately, your misconstrued so-called "news" has actually caused many regular viewers to shun your poorly reported station. You continue reporting false information for those that simply listen to whatever is on the television. We, as a strong, tightly-knit family will continue with our prayers that are continuously showing us strength as Vince is fighting for his life. No one likes a local news station that is waiting for the worst instead of pulling together and praying for the best. You should get your act together!

Wreg has lost me as a devoted viewer as well as many others. They have taken my words and Vinces mothers words and twisted them around to make the news more interesting.I actually spoke to a reporter and asked him to mention the other boys that got hurt and tell that they were in our prayers and he said.. they prob wouldnt because well Vinces story is more interesting..( what bull) They call and leave messages but i refuse to call them back.. They only want to report on the bad .I would like to say Vince had straight A's on his report card. His teacher cqme to hospital..And he is very involved with his baseball..He is not a bad kid..hes a typical teen NOt perfect but typical.I dont know the guys he was with..But the Larry house guy..i do know he risked his life to get to vince..so prison or not hes a good person...
Hacksaw---thanks for your support
AND TO BLAME.they were out that late because atleast 2 of them ( VINCE included)had just gotten off work...

First of all, it depends on the type of release that Larry House was out on. If it was ERS, if it was probation, if it was parole, or if he had flat timed his sentence. There are a lot of different ways he was out of prison. And, on a second note, from what I understand with his ENTIRE case, his was a thing of being at the wrong place at the wrong time and taking the fall for it. He wasn't sitting on the street corner with his gang banging clothes on selling crack to every kid that walked by. He made a mistake and got caught up in a bad situation. There are two types of criminals in this world: Those who choose to be wrong, and those who make mistakes.

Needless to say, he risked his life to jump in and help Vince. That's what probably allowed the family to be at LeBonheur right now instead of figuring out where to put the flowers from the funeral. He saved Vince's life. As far as I know, Larry has the one strike against him with his charge that he got. The Jones' are well known for MULTIPLE times of being involved with law enforcement in Desoto.

You say get a life. Jeez. OK. But, I am more involved in this than you think. This boy was my nephew for a long time. I was married to his aunt. My children LOVE their cousin Vince tremendously. I still think the world of the boy. And all WREG can do is report what they think is "news worthy" and "ratings worthy". Not the good things about Vince and the things he's done.

You say "Get a Life". Well, right now we're just still hoping and praying that Vince can still even "Have a Life".

What everyone needs to understand is that NO ONE deserves to be beat with a baseball bat. No one, ever, under any circumstances! I am very irritated that people are putting all the blame on the ones sitting in jail. One of the boys that is in the hospital is guilty of texting the younger Jones boy for the last couple months harrassing him and "running his mouth" threatening him and so on. The youngest jones boy than recruited his older brother & friend to fight as agreed upon by the "victims" Who really was the victim first?? Until bullying is STOPPED this kind of stuff will happen. Parents, teach your kids that bullying is not allowed and not tolerated and that there is consequences for "running your mouth". AND I DO NOT SAY THAT BEATING SOMEONE WITH A BAT OR WEAPON IS ACCEPTABLE, JUST DONT BE SURPRISED AT WHAT MEASURE SOMEONE MAY TAKE TO RETALIATE FOR MONTHS OF VERBAL TEASING AND ABUSE! Parents, wake up!

And this "poor little 15 year old" boy is also wanted in connection with a vandalism and theft case at a local store around his house as well. Banner child, isn't he? yeah, blame the parents. Blame his thug father who's also got a record along with his thug brother and thug friend. That whole Jones family right there is the poster family for birth control.

I have been to the hospital,I am in contact with his family numerous times throughout the day, I follow the news daily, and keep up with what the reporters are saying. I ask everyone to PRAY for Vince and the other 2 that were injured. I hate that reporters have a few details on the event----but then add tons of gossip and personal opinions to the case. Don't worry----the truth will come out!!! Someone was having a texting problem with the young Jones kid evidently----not necessairly Vince! Vince was at the wrong place at the wrong time !!! He is a smart kid, and trust me ---no one would go looking for a fight if they thought the other party was going to arrive with their dad, older brother and another adult friend -----who have CRIMINAL records!! This is just an example of the shape the world is in, when someone (3 men and a teen, in this case)can be so inhumane to torture, and consistently beat a helpless person in the head with a baseball bat! They all need life in prison!! A special thanks to the other 2 injured, for trying to help Vince!! Reporters, instead of looking for "an exciting story", stop and think of how you would report this if it were you're son, brother, relative or friend !! Everyone please pray for Vince, his family and the others who were injured.

This really should be a forum to check on the progress of the victims also because I have not seen anything in the paper or on the news lately about these boys and I personally am wondering how they are doing? Storming the heavens for these boys to receive a miracle!

I was going by the tone of your post, about who was the victim first. How do you know that the Jones boy didn't start the whole texting thing as well? Do you know? Yes, all of the boys involved have had some troubles, but the ENTIRE community knows about the Jones family and what a scourge they are to the community.

I'm just saying that, no matter what you do, or how you look at this whole thing, the only thing that stands out is the fact that the Jones' and that Jordan boy took things to the very highest level when they attempted to KILL Vince. Not hurt him. Not settle things in a even and fair matter, but hit him, knocked him out, and continued hitting him while he's out cold on the ground like a vicious pack of dogs.

No matter how you choose to look at it, the only victim's here in this whole case are the ones who were beaten with weapons that hey had no idea would even be involved in the entire thing.

Yes, indeed you are right. I am sorry. I have had personal issues with my children and bullies and I lost focus of what this forum is about. I am praying for all the victims in this attack. It certainly was of gang proportion, no doubt. Keeping all in my most heartfelt prayers.

Well excuse me! I read back where you posted you worked for MDOC and had access to more records than mentioned so I assumed you knew all the facts. I can certainly see where selling Loritabs to an undercover officer in a city park near a school would be "being in the wrong place at the wrong time"
I pray your "ex-nephew", which has nothing to do with this, makes a speedy and full recovery.

What a crock! Do you seriously think that this fight was the first one that occured in this location? Why do the beer cans have to have come from this incident?

Why is NO ONE talking about the fourth kid in this incident that started the whole thing but has NO injuries? Vince was not involved prior to Sunday morning! He had been at work at a haunted house all night Saturday!

I am so tired of people speculating what happened instead of really investigating and getting to the bottom of it!
