Ronnie was a wonderful guy! His wife was blessed to have him. Keep your head up Brandi he is still with you, by your side! Ronnie worked at Vivona's in Sanford back when I was in High School. He would come in on our busy nights and help us all out. He was a great friend. He will be greatly missed!

But, Sandman, you cannot forget that this happened in Sanford, and the Sanford police cannot find their butts with either hand. You call for help and what you get back is a phone call from an office telling you that he cannot get there for a while and do you still want an officer to come out. I have had many many thefts and NOTHING has ever been recovered. It just kind of bites to know the need for the police in this city and go to a local resturant for breakfast and you will see 5 or 6 sitting there for more than an hour having breakfast.

I also have no problem with them having meals on duty, but if it is an hour for breakfast, one hour for morning coffee break, an hour for lunch, one hour for afternoon tea, then an hour for dinner, then what is left? Three hours when my taxes pay for eight. And as far as putting my stuff out for people to steal, well, inside my fenced yard or inside my garage is not out for everyone to steal. When it takes the Sanford PD 3 days to respond to an attempted breakin and then you only get a response because you contact the Mayor, the Chief, the City Commission, and the newspaper, then you have a problem.

To eyes wide open....This is not about material possesions or an "attempted" break in.THIS IS A LIFE LOST!!As far as the police....You can not rely on law inforcement.Never have never will.This goes for every state in the U.S As far as blaming blacks! It all starts at home.The only people who will watch over you and yours.Are yourselfs "family" This is about my cousin Ronnie.We dont want to hear about your experiences with the law.

I hope whoever did this realizes that they took a Son, Father, and a Husband away from his family. Ronnie would NEVER hurt anybody, and now his family has a pain to endur that nobody should ever have to go through

Our Deepest Sympathy to the Shaver Family! I grew up with Ronnie & he was a great friend. He will truly be missed... My heart breaks for each and every one of you, especially the kids. Me being a father, I know how truly happy Ronnie must have been just bringing the new baby into this world. I hope to god that they find the cowards who took such a wonderful person away from all of us. I pray that you all will have peace and smiles once again, knowing that there is just one more beautiful angel watching over you.

Just got back from the funeral a few hours ago. It was a wonderful service. Afterward, we were talking about how none of us know if today is our last day. Ronnie always lived his life so well - always full of love for friends and family. I know that his time here, though too short, was well spent. I think we can all learn from that. Each day, ask yourself,'if I die tonight, will I have spent my last day on earth the best way possible?' If the answer is no, it's time to make some changes. There are no guarantees. Ronnie loved life and his family and will be missed for his kindness. We should all look to him a role model. A Family Friend wrote: I have known Ronnie's Mom(Cheryl) for 15 years. She has been my stylist that long. Jan does my fire extinguishers at a store that I manage. They have been friends for a very long time...I have watched videos of Ronnie's son while I get my hair cut for the past 3 years. I am so sad for this wonderful family that have so much LOVE in thier heart for everyone. The realization that anyone of us can have our life cut short at anytime just makes me want to go home and hug my children and my whole family to let them know how much I LOVE them because you just never know when something this tragic will happen to you. As far as race...There is only one race...that is the human race...We all are kin to Noah. Read your bible. The decisions we make in life are our decisions...we can choose right or wrong, there is no in between. It is really sad that some people have nothing to believe in...God is not allowing the death and destruction...We have taken him out of everything...Satan is to blame. When you take away good you have evil and that is why there is so much crime. I LOVE YOU CHERYL AND JAN.

This may not be the best forum to do so, but i wanted to send my deepest sympathies to the Shaver family. He was such a wonderful, thoughtful person, jack-of-all-trades, and someone who truly loved his family. He adopted our baby turtles when we had to leave FL so his kids could enjoy them. His smile just lit up a room, and the world is a little bit dimmer without him. I'm sure the family wishes to be left alone during this difficult time, but i just wanted to let them know, i am thinking of them. I feel so fortunate to have had the chance to get to briefly know James/Ronnie, and deeply saddened by this horrible loss.

I called for more information and there is only one person who has access to the account and we don't recognize them. It's so sad to say, but we've been burned before. I admit some of the things are true about us, putting up with our kids, bad behavior, instead of getting mad, they need to put it out and discuss ways to help and stop talking about white people talking about us because everytime black men get arrested, they are putting their business in the streets. We have a lot to work on as a people and stop blaming white people. I am not saying white people are right because their are white out there there don't want black people to suceed. The black menm\ that are good, stay postive. The drug addicted, umemployable, get help, you know who are. Crack will not let you be a man and stop begging in the streets for food. You are worthless, Walking dead. and ladies, the same goes for you. Get some pride! Stop selling your body and doing sexual favors for 2 dollars or a piece of crack!
