Tuesday, 13 May 2008 On Friday, May 9th at 2:00 PM a hearing was held in the Eastern district of Virginia regarding the setting of bail for Mr. Okun. The hearing was in front of Magistrate Judge Hannah Lauck, who after hearing testimony, denied bail.
 
Subsequently, Judge Payne, also of the Eastern District of Virginia proceeded with the arraignment hearing and set the criminal case for trial beginning on October 20th at 9:30 AM.
 
Mr. Okun, through his court appointed counsel, suggested that he would appeal Judge Lauck’s ruling to deny bail and indicated he would be filing that appeal in the current week. As the appeal and the ongoing responses are filed with the Virginia Court, we will endeavor to keep you current.

Its sad that you and everyone else on this blog still dont understand why the screen name INSIDE INFO MEANS.I have lots of info about okun and his fellow ex-employees.I witness everything from the get go.One of his Ex employee told me if Ed keeps up spending money like an idiot he will go down and be broke on his as*.I was like what do you mean,he said thats not Okuns money he has investors that he holds and flips their money for.

Out of the 132 million that was taken how much do you think really is left? I'm betting just enough to pay the attorney's fees on collecting it. I never understood how a bankruptcy attorney made money. Now I know. It's like a pack of lions at that water hole during the dry season. I'm sure there was a massive amount of corruption during Okun's plundering. All those other businesses, how much is the real number? At least they cut his money supply off so he can't afford some high dollar attorney to get him off. I hope Okun dies in jail after a very long sickness.... but I guess that would just cost more taxpayer money. I hope he chokes out tomorrow.

The bankruptcy court has reopened the issue of admin fees. The Trustee has submitted a proposal to pay SOME of the fees (still ridiculous considering what little they've accomplished. All of you who are 1031 creditor have until May 29 to file your objections to this new proposal. According to the motion now on the Trustee's website and the Committee's website, "Objections to the fee applications are due May 29, 2008, at 5:00 p.m. and a hearing is scheduled for June 11, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. The Court must approve all payments to be made; the Trustee will not make any professional payments except upon Court approval." Did Lou Pearlman spend the money on race cars, planes, whores, and bad land deals? Because if he did he will be in jail a long time too. Besides the attorneys sucking the last little bit of money out of the deal, there are insurance companies who were supposed to protect some of the 1031 transactions. I'm sure they will try and get out of paying too. Your money is gone bro. You are alive and hopefully well. Maybe you can send pictures to Okun of you having a good time in the world while he rots in jail. I'm sure he will find the prison dental and medical staff aren't what he is used too. Screwing people out of their money was a game to him. I am sure he wasn't in this alone. Maybe you should mail him some candy and some really rank smokes. The thought of him getting some prison dental work makes me smile a litte.

It seems that everything has been said. The money is gone, the properties are in other hands, and ed is in prison. The lawyers will end up with anything thats left.

Maybe I went so far in my last comment that it was obvious. I was hoping for responses just to pass the time. I've never had anything stolen from me outright before. My humanity and a natural fear of the law prevents me from violence, so I wish for some poetic justice. Mostly it's the fear of the law, I guess. Humanity hates a thief.

If Okey's boys got flooded out, that would indeed be some poetic justice. More than the courts can provide. Least crazy eddy is in jail. I sleep better knowing that. First time I've checked this board in 3 weeks.

Brother, any justice would be good at this point. I'm really glad it was only 13k or so he took from me. Hell, that 20% VA disability I got from Iraq will pay that back in the next five years or so. I really want to send him some candy and some plug chew. Ed needs some prison dental work.

Has anyone heard what happened on 6/11

Can anyone tell me how the "sisters" in Richmond, VA are involved in this fiasco? Several people have eluded to the fact that they had some involvement. Who are they, exactly, and how do they fit into all of this? Just curious...thanks.

I guess I should add that my company was hit by this as well, but not to the degree of most. We nearly went out of business because of this but we are hanging in which is more than many can say! Ed is where he needs to be...Simone has probably flown home in shame,(or with the jewels they couldn't find!). I feel badly for the baby boy that has to grow up with a crazy mother and a "stripe wearin" dad!(And probably no money!)

Who is this maria you mention? What was her involvement in this mess? I have been following this from a distance and you peaked my curiousity.
