Appeal aims to save historic Berlin home

BERLIN -- In a last-minute attempt to halt the demolition of one of the town's oldest houses, Sherrie Beckstead has filed an appeal to stay or reverse the decision of the town's Historic District Commission, in a 3-2 vote, that recently gave the green light for owner Pino Tomasello to raze the structure on Main Street.

Berlin advertises itself as an old historic town. Main street is the attraction with the beautiful homes and shops. Why would any vote to tear down an old home when it could be brought back to its original beauty?
