A devout American is one who protects and defends the Constitution. One who relies on their ability to defend and support their families and are not dependant on the government to do so except when in temporary need. One who is tolerant of others religious beliefs and political views.

Devout in general circumstances usually directed toward ones level of religious loyalty.
However certainly one can be a devout husband.
A devout family man.
A devout American.
Even a devout follower of sport. TRUE?
If one considers himself/herself in each category would that person
take away from any or all devotions?
All so being a Democrat I've been called everything on this thread from
Ignorant to communist and more,but according to the definition you cited I'm a devout American in every word of the meaning!
