Beth & Rowland:

Congratulations on your marriage! Today's column was wonderful and the story in the New York Times Vows section provided all of the details and some wonderful pictures.

Many happy years together!

Actually we didn't ask. And how come not more concern over the people getting swept away by the hurricane? Their marriage is not more important than that event especially to the families of the dead. Get rid of this column, now.

What a spoilsport! Lighten up already...and better yet, if you don't like the column, then just don't read it and leave it to people with a little more humanity. Life is not a zero-sum game: the grief felt by the families of those lost in the hurricane is not negated by someone else's happiness. There's room in the world for both, and making snarky comments about someone who has found well-deserved happiness is completely unproductive (and unnecessary).

Oh-what a great story! We own a cottage on the cove where it appears you were married - next to the MacMahan float. We love Five Islands and only wish we knew it when...We also hear that the Church's are great hosts at the Coveside. Congratulations and keep coming back...from another bi-coastal gal.
Wish we had been at the cottage to witness your wedding-that would have been a first.

Daily Horoscope for December 24

Leo

Perhaps it's the fact that it's Christmas Eve and everyone is busy, but you can't help feeling that you're walking on eggshells around certain people. Their emotions are very close to the surface and could erupt at a moment's notice, perhaps in a storm of tears or a fit of pique. Calm them down and ask if you can do anything to help.
