I have to say i have known Rafael for more than six years and let me tell you about the hit and run where he was the victim , flew over the roof of the car...There where many witness's and they all agreed that she was on the wrong (yes she left), the witnesses stayed to testify for him.I went to pick him up and took him home.he told me everything..... And do you think the city did anything for this man when they found herthrough her license plate number?....Not at all.
Sinse he didn't spill he's brains on the pavement or broke any bones,(But certainly needed physical therapy) they told him that they couldn't do anything for him when he called back later on the week for a follow up, not even to replace the bicycle....Whats wrong with this picture? I have talked to Rafael , and i know he feels horrible for his actions, he acted irracional and irresponsable and wants to apologize to everyone in the community, including the cyclist for making a bad name for them in the city.
There is a no contact order against him from the family... But i know he wants to personally apologize to them as well. I guess it's never too late for an apology right? No way to take back what he did,but to reflect on the mistakes from that night, and learn from them as he said to me...."I leave it in GODS hands , who has brought this hard lesson upon me and believe me it has changed my life forever.I will never forget that night. And all i can do now is pray for the kids recovery and for the family.I also want to alologize to the community for acting like a jerk.I hope you all can forgive me one day.".... As far as i know Rafael he would never intentionaly hit someone(he is actually a really gentle person and has a long history working for Montessori Schools here in Seattle. He is known to be very carying and a happy soul over all. And thats not all. He actually has worked with four diffrent delivery companies as a driver and through those years he had a clean driving record,(no DUI's, no traffic tickets, no car accidents!)
