What a shame that police departments, along with other entities, feel the need to restrict their hiring to only candidates possessing degrees. A degree in any area, from potentially 30 years ago, from any "university", graduating with possibly a mediocre GPA.
At some point experience, personality and ability should supercede a "degree" requirement. Many awesome candidates are eliminated from the hiring process by this "requirement". An awesome police chief is not created by a degree in anything. Is this requirement put into place to simply cut down on interviews?
