Body of missing teenager pulled from Lake Michigan

A teenager who had been a ward of the state for most of his life and recently became a father drowned in Lake Michigan on Tuesday after running away from a child-welfare facility, officials said.

A preventable tragedy. He did not drown because he was a ward of the state, a runaway, or a teen father born to a drug addicted mother. He drowned swimming at a popular swimming spot that for some unexplicable reason, the city stopped guarding two years ago. Put the lifeguards back.
