just moved to white county and i was wondering if the vfw had a membership fee or anything. i came from an area that had bars and such, and needing a place to drink. thanks

need2know...do you know what v.f.w. stands for..if not it stands for Veteran of Foreign Wars..the membership is only open to men who have served in combat..you cant just join a vetyerans org. because you want to...somebody can sign you in who is a member, and that makes them responsible for your actions

I went in just last night and I am 23.. All I did was show my id and sign my name then they let me in... Dont think u have to be a member.. Soooo I think u might be wrong...

You are confused about VFW membership versus a private club membership, that you have to have to drink in a dry county. Yeah, you gotta pay a membership, it's a private club.

My husband is a member i can go when ever he takes me durning the week and he signs the book and I sign under him on the week end when ever every one goes out there the book is prefilled with a members name and you go and sign under that member as a "guest" and pay at the door if you were to just walk in like on a tuesday or sometime like that then you need to have a member there with you that will be your sign in. That makes them responsible for you if you get out of hand. If you want to become a member of the men's auxiliary part of it that should get you through the door. Go tonight and talk to Jason the manager.

Thanks for your service. You are right except women veterans who served in a combat zone can join too. You are also right that non-members are supposed to be signed in by a member. Sounds like they are pretty lax on that - guess its all about the money.(There used to be a private club, the Pipeliners, in Augusta. My brother and I went in for a beer one afternoon but because there was no one to sign us in the bartender said she couldn't serve us. Just doing her job the right way.)

Too many new employees that don't know what they are doing. Like tonight there was people working there Ive never seen before who didn't know what the hell to do how to work the door when to serve us and how to mix drinks. If they can't keep people long enough to train them then I don't think it's worth going

Geez, Has it got that bad. I haven't been out in a long time. But back when I did go. The place was pretty layed back. The Elks wasn't even an option

Unless your one of the freaking pot heads that came in there last night and stunk up the place. Or one of the people that stumbled in there all ready drunk. Or just a plan ass. Those girls work hard, and they know what they're doing. Not every one can remember every drink in the book and there were only ...maybe 3? Girls in the back to serve every one. They are under staffed for the moment but it's going to get better. Just give it another month. It ought to be worked out. ;p
