Margarita Bahr paints a perfect picture of how uninformed the majority of Americans are when it comes to the realities of Adolf Hitler's reign as German Chancellor. It seems that the only recollection those "freaked out" about Obama's comparison to Hitler seem to have is The Holocaust and Authoritarian police state fascism. We must remember that when Hitler came to power in 1933, he was a National Socialist. Listen to his first speech as Chancellor and you will hear echoes of present day speeches made by Obama. Hitler talked about taking over power after the destruction of the German infrastructure and economy by the past administration. He went on to talk about how the middle classes were in despair and hundreds upon thousands were loosing their homes and jobs. Hitler went on to talk about how "now" was the time to make change. Watch the speech here : http://www.youtube.com/watch... Hitler, as brutal as he was, was only a mere mortal man...he's apart of history and lessons learned (hopefully) of what happens when a leader gains the trust of his people to the point where individual thought is no longer acceptable. We know that if we don't learn from history, we are doomed to repeat it. Comparing Obama to Hitler is not racist...it's a call from concerned Americans who have seen 9 plus years of the destruction of this country. What happened in Nazi Germany can very well happen here. Just look at how easily our Constitution has been all but obliterated.

From ignorance is blisss 'Comparing Obama to Hitler is not racist....' Your correct comparing President Obama to HItler is not racist, as several presidents have been compared to Hitler. It is however stupid, inane, insensitive, and so forth.

The truth is you think he just may want to change the lives of people not in the 1%! Bush raped the constitution for 8 years and not a single person on the right called him Hitler. So, lets give the devil his due. Let's say Obama is doing nothing more than building on the policies of The past nine years. Why has it taken you until now to be the town crier? Could it be because of the color of this president's skin? Now's where you protest and act outraged... nobody can call you a racist and this is about your love of country. I wonder though... it seems your love got stronger when the face in the White House got darker.

Obama is certainly no Hitler. Hitler brought his nation out of the great depression without the need of going to war in order to do so. History seems to be repeating itself. While Roosevelt gave the nation "hope", his economic policy delayed recovery from the end of a normal contraction of the business cycle compounded by previous excess speculative activity by "the best and the brightest among us". This is little different from Obama's policies, though obama operates on a far greater scale. Despite Obama's promises, the more "stimulus" money that is stolen from we and our children and given to Big Bank,$$$ Big School $$$, and Big Auto,- among others - the higher the unemployment rate and the less our currency is worth. In contrast, Germany had full employment and a sound currency. Lets stop this foolishness of comparing Obama to Hitler. Ronald

Don't forget, Hitler and Nazism is Socialist. Socialism is a Command Economy, with them in Command. The OPPOSITE is the Free Market Economy, you are Free, as in NOT a slave. When the government can give you everything, they can take it away. Don't forget all the rich "liberal" Americans who supported Hitler and National Socialism, like Joe Kennedy and Lindbergh.

Not wanting to be called a racist, I think it is Obama's 50% white heritage that is causing him to endorse socialist policies similar to those of Adolph Hitler. I'm absolutely certain that his 50% black heritage could not be responsible for these destructive plans. As we all know, blacks are 100% capitalist's, and would never think of promoting a socialist government. Just look at Maxine Waters, the epitome of a staunch capitalist.

Folks, Hitler published a book called Mein Kampf in which his evil policies - such as the final solution for the Jews - was discussed. Of course, I think anyone who has actually read Mein Kampf should get a medal for determination. I made it to about page 17 before I decided that I couldn't take the man's boring, thick prose any more.

Hitler was far more pro active in Germany than Obama is in America. Obama leaves the dirty job of desicrating America to his storm troops, Comrades Pelosi, Franks, and Waxman.

Prices are down in most sectors allowing folks to stretch their funds further (and most, much more sensibly). While I don't follow all currencies, the dollar is much stronger now compared to the Euro ($1.65 per Euro in July 2007, and $1.45-$1.50 now). That's a stronger dollar, not a weaker one.

FOREX-Dollar struggles, hits 1-yr low vs euro By Tamawa Desai LONDON, Sept 17 (Reuters)- The dollar fell broadly on Thursday, hitting a one-year low against the euro, as equities and commodities advanced on expectations of economic recovery. European stocks .FTEU3 rose half a percent, tracking Asian equities and Wall Street higher after data on Wednesday showed U.S. industrial production rose more than expected in August [ID:nN16118540], boosting sentiment towards riskier assets and eroding the dollar's perceived safe-haven appeal. Many expect the dollar's weakening to continue. "With risk appetite so strong, the dollar remains under broad-based pressure and we cannot see anything on the horizon to alter that today," said Chris Turner, head of FX strategy at ING. The euro rose as high as $1.4768 on trading platform EBS, its highest since mid-September last year. By 1125 GMT, it was flat on the day at $1.4718 EUR=. The single currency showed limited reaction to figures showing a higher-than-expected trade surplus in the euro zone for July, due to a recovery in exports [ID:nLH507786]. Some in the market say the recent euro rally could encounter profit-taking, with sell orders seen around $1.4770/80. Traders also cited options with a strike price around $1.4760 set to expire later in the day. The falling dollar pushed gold prices to an 18-month high and within a stone's throw of its record peak of $1,030.80 an ounce. That in turn helped boost non-dollar currencies, analysts said. http://www.reuters.com/article/usDollarRpt/id... Not long ago, one could purchase one Euro for 83 Government cents. I do not follow currency fluctuations either, but if it now costs $1.50 Government Dollars to buy one Euro, it would seem that the worth of the Government Dollar has declined relative to the Euro. In addition, the Government Dollar (thanks to "low" inflation) has declined in worth from 100 Government cents to less than 5 Government cents in less than 100 years. In addition, nothing is backing the worth of Government Dollars - other than raw military power - except "the full faith and credit of the Government" itself. That does not seem very reassuring. Ronald That conversion occurred when the Euro was created. The exchange rate for Dollars to Euros has been over $1.20 for at least six or seven years, and was over $1.50 for roughly two years until this time last year. I travel to Europe annually and follow the Euro/Dollar exchange daily.
