Daisy Mayfield: Justwondering but, have you ever heard of the 1st amendment that says in part "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof" ? And what about the declaration of independance that says "all men are created equal"? These are American values upheld by our founding documents, principals that our Country was founded on. American character and Christian values shouldn't trample the principles our country was founded on even if YOU don't like gays, bisexuals, and transgenders. They SHOULD have just as many, and as equal, rights as you do. Why do you want to take someones rights away just because you don't agree with them? Nobody is trying to take away your right to practice whatever religion you want, even though many might disagree with your religious views.

1 "I wonder what kind of future we are leaving for our children when the ACLU is doing its best to eliminate the cross from public places. Our children can't pray in our schools, but gays, bisexuals and transgenders can have a special day for their lifestyle. I feel we are creating a generation of politically correct robots who expect everything to be handed to them as long as they don't pray, fly the flag, wear a cross or exhibit any red-blooded American character or Christian values." Wasn't the original news item about a disputed cross built for World War I veterans somewhere out in the desert? Now Daisy manages to ring in her kids, homosexuals, bisexuals, transsexuals, prayer in school, flying the flag, politically correct robots and Christian values to spew her venomous hatred of the ACLU. For myself, I have often wondered why Christians have chosen the cross as a symbol of their religious faith. The Roman practice of crucifying people was one of the most heinous examples of human indecency, yet Christians and especially Roman Catholics worship the cross incessantly. Bad symbol. And Daisy is a bad example of brotherly love. |

Anyone in the mood for "Change"...?
Pentagon used psychological operation on US public, documents show By Brad Jacobson Wednesday, October 21st, 2009 -- 10:12 am Figure in Bush propaganda operation remains Pentagon spokesman A months-long review of documents and interviews with Pentagon personnel has revealed that the Bush Administration's military analyst program -- aimed at selling the Iraq war to the American people -- operated through a secretive collaboration between the Defense Department's press and community relations offices. Raw Story has also uncovered evidence that directly ties the activities undertaken in the military analyst program to an official US military document’s definition of psychological operations -- propaganda that is only supposed to be directed toward foreign audiences. The investigation of Pentagon documents and interviews with Defense Department officials and experts in public relations found that the decision to fold the military analyst program into community relations and portray it as “outreach” served to obscure the intent of the project as well as that office’s partnership with the press office. It also helped shield its senior supervisor, Bryan Whitman, assistant secretary of defense for media operations, whose role was unknown when the original story of the analyst program broke. In a nearly hour-long phone interview, Whitman asserted that since the program was not run from his office, he was neither involved nor culpable. Exposure of the collaboration between the Pentagon press and community relations offices on this program, however, as well as an effort to characterize it as a mere community outreach project, belie Whitman’s claim that he bears no responsibility for the program’s activities. These new revelations come in addition to the evidence of Whitman’s active and extensive participation in the program, as Raw Story documented in part one of this series. Whitman remains a spokesman for the Pentagon today. Read the rest here : http://rawstory.com/2009/10/bryan-whitman-2/ |

Mr, Knapp, I agree that the loss of jobs in the USA to overseas firms was and is a ticking bomb to this nation. Yet, incompetence it was not. Good old American greed was the factor. There may have been a possible solution in accepting lower wages or not driving for increased pay to keep up with the Joneses. But all in all, it is the "SHOW ME THE MONEY" American way.

REPLY,..
Education belongs in schools, not prayer. Prayer belongs in the Church or home. Exactly what "special" day would that be for, gays, bisexuals and transgenders? They are just as human as you are Ms. Mayfield. |
