It is a disgrace that the Mayor of Balch Springs cannot campaign without harrasing and threating Dr. Carrie Gordon with jail if she is to wear her name tag at any function. If I am correct the only time you do not wear campaign buttons in on the day you vote. Dr. Gordon was threaten at the Expo on Tuesday evening by the police...was told that if she entered the Civic Center with her name tag the Mayor had said to arrest her...well the Mayor was at the expo sitting at a table with his candidate signs...and no one was arresting him. I think this constitutes an ethical or criminal charge...a Mayor threating someone to be put in jail because he is afraid to lose...I think an investigation needs to take place...the police at the door told Dr. Carrie Gordon that if she were her name tag the Mayor had said she would be arrested...I think we need an investigation. I think the paper needs to ask about this situation. Pictures of the event are forth coming showing the Mayor and some City Council members sitting at the event with their candidate signs...are they going to be arrested I ask?

First of all this article is false and you are incorrect, I never threaten or directed to have Candidate Gordon put in jail, so I don't know were you got that idea, and I'm not aware of any officer threatening to arrest Gordon. The City has a resolution saying that there would be no campaigning in public buildings but only once a year and it would be open to the public and sponsored by the city. Gordon was present at the expo well before I had arrived; I was an hour late to this event upon my arrival Carrie Gordon was at the location with several supporters wearing political advertisement and passing out her political advertisement. Myself and two other candidates then at that moment decided to go outside and pull some of our sign from the street corner then placed them in front of our table, the materials on our table was about city projects and Super Bowl XLV along with a video about Super Bowl XLV. I'm not afraid to lose because I don't own the seat of Mayor it belongs to the people. So please know your facts and be correct in your comments for any future blogs’. Mayor, CWD

Mr. Davis:
Dr. Carrie Gordon was advised at the door by one of your officers that if she entered the Expo with her name tag that if you asked for her to be arrested he would have to arrest her...we have pictures of the event...of the Expo you promoting your campaign...there is not one item of Dr. Carrie Gordon in the whole building...you also disregard the Resolution..and brought all your campaign information we have pictures...we also have pictures of the Spring Fling where no literature or campaigning was supposed to be done in the City Building...but you and your supporters and your candidates have all their literature and signs...we have pictures...These are the facts and I trust that you know that you cannot continue to harrass and intimadate another candidate...that is not well seen by the Texas Ethics and also by Elections Department...you do not supress a candidate by threatening or harrassing...the person is very qualified to be the next Mayor of Balch Springs...and you are not ging to deter her....

I don't intend these remarks to be unkind, but while I can dismiss the grammatical errors of a concerned citizen, it's a bit more difficult to excuse an elected official, either past or present, for having such a poor grasp of the written English language.

If Mr. Davis intends to do any more blogging, he would be wise to retain the services of a professional copywriter to express his thoughts to the world, and thus retain the illusion of literacy.

Columbia Pacific University was a pioneer of non traditional education. CPU was accredited ("approved") by the State of California and its degrees earned in 1978-1997 are legally valid, www.cpuniv.us . Out of 7,500 CPU alumni, many teach at traditional universities. Among distinguished graduates, Dr. Robert Shurney was instrumental in all NASA Apollo flights, including Man's 1969 landing on the moon. And former British PM Harold Wilson held a honorary CPU doctorate and delivered a speech at the school's graduation ceremonies. CPU was a good experimental university. It is absurd to persecute people for legitimate, scholarly and meaningful learning. Texas libels CPU and should remove immediately CPU from its list of fraudulent schools. Moreover, it implies that California is a fraudulent state because it accredited CPU.

Daily Horoscope for December 27

Sagittarius

After all the excitement of the past few days you're longing for the chance to put your feet up and take life easy for a while. Ideally, you should bury your nose in a good book and be left alone until you resurface for a food transfusion. But you'll also enjoy chatting to someone you know very well and for whom you don't have to make a big effort, such as a close relative.
