We're not going to secede, the governor was having fun with some friends and it was blown way out of proportion by the liberal press. We are however, going to be a thorn in their royal butts.

We all are Americans first. Don't forget the most decorated soldiers in WWII and Vietnam were Texans. Admiral Chester Nimitz was a Texan. We're going to stand and not let the USA fall to socialism, period.

I hope Texas stands up for states rights and sets an example for other states to follow.
So much that Obama and his comrads want to do is clearly unconstitutional. The federal government has no business setting unfunded mandates, or forcing citizens to buy anything. Its not the purpose of the Federal government.

Way to go Texas, America needs a hero, as many as you can spare actually.

No one acting? C'mon Dustin, everyone else is talking "green technology." Texas just finished the largest electrical wind farm in the world. Texas refineries backed up by T. Boone Pickens and researched at Texas A&M are closing in at making use of natural gas to power vehicles. We have more natural gas than the rest of the world has oil, including the middle east. We're doing, not preaching. Some of the other states that criticize us are doing nothing.

To Mr. Neumann, the american dream is to work hard and to do better with hard work. As a hardworking American, It would seem that the new american dream is to let the goverment take care of us by taxing the working people.Tax me less and put abled bodied people to work.

Yeah, but you'll also still have Bush. No one can screw up an economy more than a Bush. "Read my lips. No more middle class."

No, not hardly. Litterbugs caught by state troopers get a very stiff fine and community service for several weekends picking up trash. I've seen them.

Murders get the death camber. "Most states are doing away with the death penalty, Texas has an express lane! And if your convicted of killing a child, you get to go to the front of the line."

Ron White, Texas humorist.

What do you do with murderers in Washington? Group therapy?

An interesting article that contrasts Texas' public spending and taxation rationale to that of California:

http://www.city-journal.org/2009/19_4_califor...

As a born Texan that has spent most of his life in California, I can absolutely attest to how badly and inefficiently tax monies are spent in Cali. We love Texas.

That is a great article . Thanks
Texas is impressive in many ways. Lets hope they can stand up for states rights because soon there is going to be a states rights war if this insane socialist healthcare madate passes. The federal government has forgotten that it works for the states, not the other way around.

I'm sure it wasn'st legal when the US left England. I just don't understand that argument, why are we so worried about what is in the US Constitution when the people we elected to follow the constitution ignore it.

I sure miss the days when:
1) No Speach Police
2) Profiling was a useful tool for law enforcement
3) People were accountable for their actions
4) Schools were able to control students
5) Children were taught respect, sometimes with a paddle
6) Being on welfare or was embarrassing
7) Political Spin didn't exist, Thank You Clinton

I could go on forever with this, but I hope you get my point. Liberals will go crazy when they read this, I can't wait for their distorted comments.

Yes I would like for Texas to leave the Union, I think Texas can be saved, I'm not so sure about the country I use to love.

I wish for all to live free, not under the thumb of the some government.

Daily Horoscope for December 27

Sagittarius

After all the excitement of the past few days you're longing for the chance to put your feet up and take life easy for a while. Ideally, you should bury your nose in a good book and be left alone until you resurface for a food transfusion. But you'll also enjoy chatting to someone you know very well and for whom you don't have to make a big effort, such as a close relative.
