Come on The Sensible One, how can you expect to have internet forumz if we aren't illegally "at war" with the Iraqis??? How could we possibly have all this if not for their oil? Holy Cow/TP Hater - stop using "American freedom" as an excuse to run roughshod over innocent people/countries. It's not anti-freedom or anti-American to disagree with what has been overwhelmingly denounced as an unjust invasion.

Have you ever signed a check for payment to include your life? You sit behind your computer and type "anti-freedom" comments and then expect others just to accept it because you wrote it. You have the right to type that crap because of every American that has ever served in the military, gone to war, or even died in defense of this Country's ideas. You are welcome for those freedoms being provided to you.

20 years ago this week, I was in Saudi Arabia, Iraq, and Kuwait, during the ground war and cease fire. My convoy duty during this time was driving EPW (enemy prisoners of war), EPW camp supplies, and seeing the battlefields only days after the invasion of Iraq. On this day, 20 years ago, the people of Kuwait began to return home, to freedom among their new ruins. This anniversary is getting very little press or attention. The likely cause for this lack of press is the political embarrassment that we are still there.

Ya know, I'm quite dissapointed about this whole thing. Instead of bickering about how we shouldn't be over there, how about you wish us luck when we depart. This is our job, this is what we signed up to do. We took the oath. Not you. You have the right to complain because you arnt going over. We chose not too because its our job and we knew exactly what we were getting into when we raised our hand. This isn't the vietnam war, and ill be damned if I get shunned when I get home. Im proud to wear my uniform. Its something only a select amount of americans can do. So instead of bickering about it, support us. Show us your support. Thank a veteran. Maybe say a good luck.

Easy Turbo: you aren't leaving until 2012. I am sure the well wishes will come at that time. If not by everyone, it will come from those that went before you and know what you do.

CHINA WON IRAQ'S OIL CONTRACT. I KNOW THIS BECAUSE I WAS DEPLOYED TO IRAQ WHEN IT HAPPENED. THE UNITED STATES DOESN'T RECEIVE A DROP OF IRAQ'S OIL SO KNOW YOUR FACTS BEFORE YOU RUN YOUR IGNORANT MOUTH.

Wow! I am going on this deployment...leaving my family for a year. You say its nothing risky...why don't you raise your hand and put your life on the line for your country and go through what we do on a daily basis. The training, the physical fitness, the mental toughness it takes to be a soldier? Why don't you leave your family for a year without any means of contact and let them worry about where you are and what you are doing? Waiting day in and day out for a letter in the mail or a care package? Why don't you think about the vets that have missed out on not only one but two, maybe even three years of their childs lives?! You don't know exactly what our mission is and no matter what they say on TV or in the newspapers, don't you think that maybe its sugar-coated a little bit coz its known of your business what we are doing? An IED can be on a route at any time and any place, a sniper can be sitting in a window waiting to pull the trigger, a spy can be following us day in and day out learning our patterns. Just because we are in Kuwait doesn't mean we are out of danger! All it takes is one moment, one simple mistake and my fellow soldiers lives are at stake! No mission comes without a chance of danger. So while my fellow soldiers and I are over in Kuwait next year eating MREs while your enjoying New York Strip steaks and baked potatoes, taking a shower that is cold that is even if we have water and your taking your nice long hot shower or bath, while we are carrying gear and walking endless miles in the Kuwait deathly heat trying to pay attention to abnormalities and your picking your child up from school, not even once thinking about anything that could go wrong, no gun shots, no IEDs, no grenades; while you get at least 5-6 hours of sleep every night in a comfortable bed and we go days without sleep, let alone not even in a bed...you have no idea what you have in life until you are a Soldier. Everything you have in your life is a luxury, not a necessity. You don't need a TV, a cell phone, a computer...I have gone months without just fine. But you can't begin to imagine what its like to be away from your family. So why don't you rethink what you all are saying and support our troops. Who cares if its over oil or freedom...its still soldiers who are putting their lives on the line.
