Having been a Navy brat, I've lived in Bermuda, Florida, Guam, Both sides of the Chesapeake, the Maine coast and the Cali. coast. When in Cali, I surfed almost every day for fifteen years. I've seen plenty of sharks, mostly near the mouth of Mugu lagoon in Ventura county. I swam with a hammerhead on St. Johns in the U.S. virgin Islands. We used to grab sand sharks by the tail and beach them in Montauk. We are doing a tremendous amount of damage to the shark populaton for trophys, fear and food. Whose gonna begrudge the sharks a little payback, after all, we kill them at a rate in excess of a million to one!

My numbers were a little off. I lust googled "yearly sharks killed" and came up with astounding numbers. Estimates say up to 73MILLION sharks killed annually for shark fin soup! I think we can let the shaks off the hook for killing less than ten of us per year.

sharks have been around long time before humans existed. they own the seas, the oceans, the shore lines. anything that invades their territory is considered their food, including people.

The original comment was sarcasm, not a political statement. I think that you missed the point of how ridiculous it is to blame things that naturally occur on any president, Republican or Democrat. Global warming and cooling, sharks eating things that swim in the ocean, hurricanes, natural disasters as well as people stubbing their toes have been occuring long before Bush and Clinton and will continue to occur long after them as well.

Global warming or the President caused shark attacks? Has anybody thought to blame the shark for the attack? Attacking is what sharks do for a living. Just stay away from them.
