Is it a nice town, warm, pretty, nice parks, lake, mall?

Good hospitals, doctors, newspaper, wal-mart, fast food, is it a small town, horse country, a fun place?

Good schools, a zoo, do people lock their doors, does everyone know everyone, do they have a yearly fair?

Do you like living in Columbus?
The Amish, are they in Columbus?
Has the recession hit the town? Does the town have certain trees or flowers they are known for? Do lots of people have gardens? Do lots of people have swimming pools? Where can a person gamble?

*********
I live near Sacramento, Ca. Very hot on Sunday 104*we lock our doors. Don't know any Amish. Some have horses.
We have a small zoo. Don't really feel recession. Tons have pools, many malls. There are many vacant building, like mini malls that are closed so recession may have hurt some. Taho & Reno are couple hours away. I"m sitting here thinking *your town is prob the same as mine.

Thanks for any information you can give me!

Hey knowitall, Thanks for talking to me. It's funny but I was thinking that if anyone answered me it would be you. I saw your name a couple of times on the blog.
So do you visit C? Do you live close to Columbus?
How many hospitals?

Do you have an old car? I have a PTCruzer. Looks like an old car but new parts.

I live in Ky., right on top of the lake in Burnside - Had and still have family in that region - Visit a few times a year - The town has really changed since '66 - I came back in middle of '69 and enjoyed myself for about 18 mos - Then I quit the speed and sobered up and came home - Absolutely love that place in the summer , Brown Co. Park , car shows , cold beer ,- Don't know about hospitals since the flood -( Check threads )- Had a nephew from Jonesville got burned bad and was sent to Wisher Hospital in Indianapolis - No old cars now , but my son has a '68 -'72 Chevy p/u and a '45 chevy p/u (disasembled with 8,900 actual documented miles ), for sale - Guess I got too old - Trying to part out my last one -(earlier posts)- P T 's would be ok , if they had v-6's or small blocks - Could be built tough with Chevy stuff - For more interesting B S and other subjects , click on Somerset ,Ky. Topix - My posts are legendary - Peace -

Well let me start off by saying the newspaper is one of the biggest liars, they are crooked and only publish what they want whether its news or not, and most of the time they don't publish the news that needs to be told.

Want to read their paper for free visit http://columbus1.ath.cx/index.php... and you will be set to see the actual daily paper without paying for it.

I live in Columbus but I'm originally from Sacramento, CA. This place is nice and yeah, the recession has it this place pretty damn hard. It's perfect to raise kids at and like many smaller towns, after an X amount of time of being here everyone knows you or knows of you. I'm actually moving back to Sacramento here in about a month but overall, this place ain't bad at all. It's all how you go about your life and live it. And yeah, like many different places, we have our share of dingbats and crumb snatchers (thieves and element) but nothing to make this place bad. If you wanna move a relatively affordable town with at least some of everything, this is the spot.

If Columbus is such a bad place, why do so many people graduated from HS here, go away to college and then move back to raise their families. I've lived all over and have never lived in a place where there are so many boomerang kids. It speaks to how nice this place really is for raising families.

This I know everyone person needs a one way ticket out of here, your mind "ain't" right.

I grew up in a crappy Indiana town and instead of pissing and moaning about how horrible it was ... guess what I did ... I LEFT! People that whine about how horrible a place is after living here for their entire lives and stay into adulthood get what they deserve, miserable lives. You're not being held hostage in Columbus honey bunny .. do the town a favor and leave.

I lived in Columbus when I was 40 for 3 years .It was fine by me. I regret leaving ,but thats life.
Give it a try, thats what I did, nothing is forever so you can leave if you dont like it.
No one else can tell you you wont like it, go for it, thats what I did and still have the fondest memories .

people that make a choice to stay in a town that they can't stand and do nothing but whine and moan about how horrible it is make me want to vomit.

Don't weenie whine about how bad it is in Columbus, because it's not. You CHOSE to stay here because of your family and that's fine, but the town had nothing to do with that decision.

Get out or shut up.
