I don't think so. You better serve the time and fines just like any other person. Old enough to booze and drive??? Then face the consequences.

I will never understand a system that ELECTS judges. According to my math this cat was 32 when he became a judge. Doesn't that seem a little young to be on the bench?

He should be removed as a judge. If he can't follow the laws he has no right judging others. That's the funny part about these judges... They can't follow the laws themselves but are out there passing judgement on others.

The broad term "judge" is being used, but the drunk is a magistrate not a county judge. He does not preside over criminal trials. Most district magistrates are clowns, but the community has no idea because they are law abiding. Magistrates abuse power, ignore the law and generally run amok. If you think 32 is young, do some checking on ages of other magistrates.

Drunk driving laws

This is the problem with the DUI laws here a guys has an accident and gets the same treatment as the guy who did not do any harm or property damage. The DUI laws should only come into play if you are driving erratically or have beeninvolved in accident! not get stopped cause your tail light is out and you are driving just fine. different people have different tolerances.

If you can't do the time - don't do the crime. Get rid of him. Now he sees the light, please. All dui should be treated allike

The judge appointed to hear this case should look at past decisions from the Reiley regarding DUI accident which the operator was over 3 times the legal limit and pass on the judgement. He is not above the law.

I'm amazed he actually got arrested. Most area police would have taken him home.

No no no no no....Done the crime pay the fine like any other drunk. In this case, the bozo should have known better than any decent judge with any intelligence would tell me. Better yet, just castrate him and nail him to a cross.

After waiving the hearing, Reiley said he decided to take responsibility for his actions because that was ingrained in him when he was growing up. He said he is eager to put the case behind him to show he is ''dedicated and committed'' to his job.
No, b/c its embarrassing for him and he wants it over-with.

ARD is a program designed to keep otherwise productive members of society out of prison and give them the ability to earn their license back in a shorter period of time. Understand that ARD is no walk in the park. You still lose your license, you still face jail time, and you still are required to go to counseling and other programs.

Although I don't agree with you entirely I do understand what you are saying. I have kids and a Wife on the road and I don't need a drunk driver plowing into them because he/she thinks they have a high tolerance. If you have a high tolerance for alcohol you are already showing signs of an addiction-fyi and you DUI regularly. If you look at the DUI cases in the state of PA many of them are where the DUI offenders was sleeping in his car someplace with the keys out of the ignition. Once you give your blood in PA, you're basically in a open/shut case for the system. Rarely do you see people beating a DUI OR EVEN getting reduced sentencing. Their only option for leniency are state designed programs like the judge is applying for. I know people are going to come on here and rant and rave about a response like this but you will never understand the situation until you or one of your friends/family are pulled over for DUI and have their lives ruined because of it. We all here the horror stories and Drinking and Driving. It makes headlines all the time and its wrong-period. However, what do you really accomplish by putting productive tax paying members of society in jail when they didn't hurt anyone.
