Marijuana doesn't do anything to you.
Alchohol is way more dangerous.
These people aren't SCUMBAGS, they're PEOPLE. Jesus Christ, see past your own self-righteousness and try to have some compassion.

Ahhh...Becca, spare us all. In order to regain this community, which has been slowly deteriorating for decades, we absolutely must be....RIGHTEOUS! We must be judgmental.

You, Becca, are promoting the World of Apathy where everything is okay, and people just walk around aimless without passion for anything, and live for the moment without regard for consequences. This is why the the crime rate is so high; the divorce rate as well. It goes back to parents and "Apathy begets apathy".

I am right and will proudly admit it to an audience of your peers. I also judge people based on the strong morals (right and wrong) that were beaten (figuratively speaking) into my thick skull by a superb grandmother and certain key elders in my family. Thank God, there have been people in my life who were concerned enough about my welfare to tell me the difference between right and wrong, AND were willing to watch after me to make sure I really knew.

For the record:

Drugs are wrong.
Alcoholism in excess is wrong.
Cheating on your spouse is wrong.
Lying is wrong.
Violence is wrong.
Sex with kids is wrong.
Illegal immigration is wrong!

I'm also old-fashioned and have a strong belief in God. So, I want to keep the sacred holidays of Christmas and Easter sacred, at home and away from the malls which should be closed. The 10 Commandments I want in every public building as a reminder in case people forget.

I believe in tough child rearing, as opposed to child abuse. Therefore, if a kid gets out of line too much, well, I condone a good old fashioned spanking (not a beating) and it should be a family matter which the courst have no juristiction over.

Those druggies absolutely needed tough-love rearing. And since they did not get it, the public is now obliged to take measures that will remove them from our streets before they can corrupt more children. We have a few good families/people left in Tamaqua, and we must stand shoulder to shoulder to take back our community and send a strong message to the degerates to stay out or else!

Did u guys hear the mother of the poor little drug dealer is blaming the cops. Yeah she said the cops set her son up.Yeah, then you wonder why your kid is a drug dealer when you have that kind of attitude.

You're right. They are people. But they have to respect themselves before others will give them the same respect. Like it or not, illegal drugs are bad for you. They were told since they were kids that drugs will get you in trouble. Follow the rules or go to jail. Lots of people are in jail because of Alcohol too. Lots more are in a pine box because of drugs. It usually starts with pot.

Am glad that they had that bust, but this one example how people in Tamaqua are going to try to make easy money because the job here sucks. And the activities for recreation is the worst, am not making any excuse for these people because is wrong what they are doing. But we need to improve our community by creating more jobs and recreation for our youth so they could stay out of drugs and problems.

Maria, you are making excuses for them.
I grew up in a tough urban housing project where the majority of young men were into violent and criminal activities.
I did not end up like them because my family gave me a moral foundation.

Stealing? Doing drugs? Selling drugs? Get serious.
NOT an option in my family!

Maria, stop sympathizing with the young men, for you are making them worse. There is no excuse for doing the wrong thing.

If they want jobs, they are out there. That's if they are willing to wake up and be at work ON TIME, accept a starting wage, earn the respect of co-workers and management, live FRUGALLY on the salary they EARN, and not make sex such a big focus of their lives (shaking head) so they can focus on what they are doing. They will also have to take out all of the earrings, wear their pants AT THEIR WASTElINE, speak using common English not the broken ghetto talk that has gotten so en vogue.

Am I being to honest?

If you are the mother/sister of a young man, please, do yourself a favor and stop being so damned soft!

Why do people say "they have to give something to the kods to do". Who are "THEY". Tamaqua spent A LOT of money on the wonderful skate park and what happens there? Oh yeah drug sales. I am not one to believe all people that hang out there are on something but COME ON. Baseball fields, basketball courts, playgrounds and they can't even get a ball game together. If anyone is playing ball on Spruce Street, someone has a cig. hanging out of their mouth.
Bottem line is nobody needs to entertain kids of today. Youth sports galore. YMCA Salvation Army Leo Club. Hey kids, make your own club. Buy a momopoly board. Hell I'll buy one for you if you promise not to roll the money in to a joint.
NOBODY OWES YOU ANYTHING regardless of what your president wants you to believe.
There are fewer entry level jobs but there are openings. When I was complaining about making 3.35/hr at Leibys 25 years ago, I had an uncle honest enough to say, "what else are you trained to do?".
And to everyone in the area that wants to blame immigrants for the crime, remember these kids were born and raised here. Again, stop looking for excuses. They may have been good kids and I'm sorry they have to learn the hard way but for God's sake (or your neighbors) Get a clue.

Everyone knows about the trailer on W. Union St. If police really wanted to reduce drugs, they know where to start.

I cannot believe the amount of people who will make personal attacks on someone, even lie about them, just because they are holding a grudge. Posting a person's name and address is completely wrong! If you have a neighbor you do not like, then stay away from him. Otherwise, if you know he is a drug dealer, then take care of it by getting your facts (not assumptions) straight, and make an intelligent report to the police.
We have a drug problem that can only be solved by good people with a genuine desire to clean up the town because they want their hometown to be "home sweet home" now and in the future.

Anyone could see the people going in and out of that trailer. Most of them park on Clay St. to try being less conspicuous. They're not fooling anyone.

Daily Horoscope for December 29

Scorpio

Your thoughts turn to the past today, putting you in a nostalgic mood. You're awash with sentimental tears as you dwell on days gone by or gaze at photos of people you'll never see again. However, try not to let this mood of reminiscence turn into a tendency to feel sorry for yourself and therefore to demand special treatment from others.
