Um, let's see, you suffocate your newborn baby and you get community service at a DAY CARE center??? All you moms out there, you better check out your day care center for new 16 year old workers that don't speak English very well. What is wrong with this judge???? Remember his name, MIchael Stuttley, no re-appointment or re-election for you, judge.

Here we go again with the liberal courts saying "It's ok to kill a baby and throw it in the trash, just as you would a soiled Kotex pad. No foul, no harm." If you're going to put a baby killer on the streets, the least you could do is to remove her overaries so she wouldn't have the pleasure of killing and dumping another one of her new borns.

The story doesn't say she doesn't speak English very well. It says she gets help in English, meaning she gets tutoring in her English class, perhaps with reading literature and writing essays. Pretty run-of-the-mill stuff for an American high school student ...

unbelievable!!! she killed and she's told to move on with her life?! she's a murderer and isn't being tried for it?! She's going to kill again. For sure!

This is no diffrent than a 14 year old ending a life with a gun. Why was it treated with a slap on the wrist?

This judge (Stuttley) is nuts. From the article:

During the sentencing, Stuttley told the girl that she's young and that it's expected she'll make mistakes.

"When you find yourself in a situation that you cannot explain ... find an adult you can trust," Stuttley said.

"You need to put it behind you ... you've got a long life in front of you, " he said.

Give me a break. She's expected to make mistakes? THEN LOCK HER UP FOR A WHILE! Seek an adult you can trust? She's in the care of the SAME ADULT WHO DIDN'T REALIZE SHE WAS PREGNANT!

Judge Stuttley should be removed from the bench.

that is why this girl got a slap on the wrist cause the judge is black and i bet the girl is black too, its a double standard, i am surprised he didn't just come out and say its all the white man's fault.

Until we get back to holding People accountable for their actions this Liberal BS will continue My question is if her little sister knew about the Baby and the Baby was in the house all day till she got home from school how is it possible that the Mother never found the Baby

5 yrs probation? Is the Judge nuts? Oh, that's right she was 14 at the time. So What. Even I knew murder was wrong when I was 14. She will be back in court again for another murder. Should have ordered her to have her tubes tied, and throw her in jail.

The white black thing doesn't cut it. This same judge sentenced a white boy to the same 5 years probation when he killed an elderly lady by putting a firecracker in her mailbox.

Trust me the 17 people that he made angry with this sentence will be far outnumbered by the boatloads of parents kicking and scratching to get into his courtroom for help with their oppositional, defiant, disobediant, criminal, and sometimes psychotic children. He is a good judge. There is A LOT of missing info on this case that the media has not published.

I'm really torn about this one. On the one hand i'd like to say give her another chance because she is so young, but then I think, she actually took time to think about how she would handle this situation and her only way out is to suffocate the infant? I can't believe that. Her actions were cruel and unthinkable even for a 14 year old. She planned a murder!

What if the "white boy" suffocated the elderly lady and threw her body out with the trash, like the sweetie in this case? I don't doubt that this judge might overlook it and tell the young master to "get over it and get on with his life," since the judge apparently does not value life much, but I would at least hope for a more general outrage.
It is so disheartening to see life cheapened like this. So very sad that more are not outraged.

Why didn't Judge Stuttley give the baby's family a chance to make a victim's impact statement so the judge would know how the murder affected them?<br> Oh, that's right, the baby's family committed the crime, so there was no one there to say anything. Lucky day in court!. <br>
By the way, NFL quarterback Mike Vick got 23 months in federal prison for killing dogs. He should have killed his daughter in Cook County, then he would have gotten off Scot-free (unless he used steroids, in which case it would be another matter altogether, that really is bad).

How can anyone be so colossally idiotic as to hand down such a sentence to a baby killer? Who decided it was a good idea to have her work at a day care center anyway? Also, anyone who is "doing well" at home and in school, a few years after killing her child, is not a human being worth a second chance. Who was this judge and how can we be rid of him or her?

Moron: The correct punishment was death. Only a despicable moron would defend a judge who sends a child killer to be around other kids. Any parent who wants this judge to stay on the bench should give their kids up for adoption because they are far too stupid to be a good parent.
