Immigrants who gave their all for America

God Bless all the men and woman serving and I
pray they all come home soon.My sister works
on a U.S. base in Germany and I heard many
stories of soldiers who were in the U.S. llegally
and lllegally who were in the arm forces fighting
in this war.

Should non-citizens be serving in the Armed forces of the United States of America?

I don't believe that this is what General Washington envisioned.

It was the corrupt British Imperialists who were reduced to hiring paid Hessian mercenaries -- who ran like wild dogs in the face of serious American citizen soldiers.

Has anyone ever read Gibbons' Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire?

In its waning days the Romans were reduced to hiring Barbarian mercenaries to fight their wars.

Those same Barbarians were soon determining who would be the next Roman Emperor.

This is not a healthy situation. No persons, but legitimate American citizens should be allowed in the armed forces of the USA.

General Washington was having a difficult time winning the war. Adams, Jefferson and Franklin all successfully persuaded France to help with money and manpower. Poland is known for two: Thadeus Koskiusko and Casimir Pulaski.
With today's wars, I don't think we should have non-citizens fighting. My father was made a citizen before going overseas for D-Day. These young men should have been given the same courtesy.
If war is so important, then the U.S. needs to bring the draft. Send Bush's twin daughters to fight his poorly run battles. Kill our own children not those of other nations.
President Eisenhower warned of the military industrial complex. It is helping to destroy the worlds economy today. The Roman and the Mayan Empires both collapsed due to overemphasizing war. We are on the same track.
Osama and Saddam were trained and militarized by U.S. military advisors before these wars. Our friends become our enemies? That is insane!

Thanks for your service and ultimate sacrifice for the USA. Sympathies to your friends and families, God bless them all. Your volunteer service is very much appreciated.

It's sad when other honorable men have to fight for this country. We can't get our lazy men of the couches (not all men don't blast me). So many punks on the streets. GOD help us.

The hatred against immigrants these days is off the charts. But you just have to pray for the haters. By and large they are sad, pathetic folks who are not living the American dream themselves but somehow feel better about their situation when they can say awful, mean things about Mexican tomato pickers.

During the Vietnam police action, non-citizens were drafted into the military and NOT offered citizenship. If a immigrant refused to be inducted....he was deported.

Why don't YOU join the Army then, you lazy punk? All legal immigrants have to register with the selective service system, which means they have the option to join the military, and in case of a war they would be drafted just like any U.S. citizen. Now, show some respect to those who died for your country, you ignorant fool!

Hats off to legal immigrants, regardless of what they do after entry as long as it's legal and they contribute to society. Those that serve in the armed forces have my utmost respect.

Those that broke into the country illegally, regardless of what they did after entry, should be found, punished, and deported.

There is a HUGE difference between a legal immigrant and an ILLEGAL immigrant. USE your brain. I'm living the American Dream Pal and I don't appreciate my tax dollar going to pay for medical services and welfare for illegals when we have more than enough poor American citizens.

Don't forget this is an all-volunteer Army. These young men volunteered to fight and to protect this country, even it wasn't their own at the time. I salute their courage, appreciate their sacrifice and share the pain of their family. These are what the American spirit represents and God bless them and their family.

I guess that's one way to become a citizen! How did he get in the armed forces if he wasn't a citizen? You need the proper ID to even fly commercially now days.

if your not a legal american citizen you should not be able to serve,its an awful thing the U.S. does to immigrants or illegal immigrants.

35,000 is a significant number. If they want to serve, then let them serve. They are fighting for the rest of the citizens that don't wanna serve. Why is it such a big deal where they are from? They VOLUNTEERED to fight for this country.
