2 Well, you're kind of making everyone elses argument that it's a complete waste of time and resources that this issue should be on the ballot at all. Gay people already have the same Constitutional rights as everyone else, why the push to re-define marriage as it's been known for thousands of years other than for political purposes? |

2 Uh, I think you meant to indicate the right when you said brain-dead. After all, they've proven they can't think for themselves. |

2 Perhaps you should take a creative writing class so you can recognize when sarcasm is taken to the extreme to illustrate the fallacy of another argument. And, please prove that marriage has been the way it is today - a mutual agreement between a man and a woman - for thousands of years. You couldn't even prove it to be hundreds of years. Until very recently, it was a business arrangement. That's why there was a dowery. Before that it was a property arrangement. And before that, it was basically a sexual arrangement. That's why men could have multiple wives - so they would have lots and lots of offspring. If a woman was found to be barren, she could be deserted. Are you really so certain you want to go the route of "traditional" marriage? Because if you're a woman, then you better be willing to go to bed with the highest bidder. |

2 Yep, just like when everybody had the same rights in the 50's. They could marry someone of their same race and that was it. But, they all had the same rights. Nothing unconstitutional about that, right? It's amazing that people see no violation of rights when it's not their rights being violated. |

Just to be sure, I've re-read my post. Sorry, but religion wasn't mentioned. Try not to assume. |

1 Just like a majority has use the Bible justify not freeing the slaves, not allowing interracial marriages, not allowing women to vote, not allow blacks to use the same restroom as whites. |

1 Since you're gay and you speak for all gays, you're too stupid to make your/their point. Epic fail. No special rights for gays. |

1 You know what -- there are no "Christians," just like Ghandi said... they are a bunch of zealots who operate under hate instead of love... not a single is remotely similar to their Christ. I think it is about time we do to this extreme fundamentalist religion what we did to the Taliban in Afghanistan. I'm sorry, I am just so mad right now and I'm just sick of their lies and their overt bigotry and lies about us! |

1 No special rights for Christians then either. Let's take away your tax shelters and your codifying of laws and your protections from discrimination. How about we refuse YOU the right to marry. Maybe if we just had "religious unions" that didn't have the same protections as Civil Unions. Maybe if we denied you the right to visit your loved ones in the hospital, or the 1000 + benefits of marriage... bet you'd whistle a different tune in a nonce then wouldn't you there Skippy? No, but discrimination against religion would be wrong because that is a... errr... well, a chosen lifestyle. |

1 Your argument is invalid. It is impossible for your to directly correlate the genetics of gender and race with two guys wanting to get married. |

1 Well your argument is invalid you can't use a book stories to justify of what marriage is then how come atheists, infertile couples could get marry and gays can't. So Are saying you choose to be heterosexual |

I agree, no special rights for Christians. A case can be made that the churches, synagogues, and mosques should all be taxed. I'm not approaching the ridiculousness of the argument for gay marriage from a religious standpoint, but from one based on the Constitution. Equal rights under the law. |
