This designation by the ench is a Conservative Party is a disgrace. This man as a member of the bench is a disgrace. Simeone thinks he can disregard rules and ethical behavior. Thw Commission should have removed him from the Family Court.

Man you can't buy this kind of media support. Way to go McKay.
Judge Simeone is being bashed BECAUSE he decided to seek the Independence line - a line he had for his first campaign.
Now just because he is running a primary - all of a sudden - the tables at a fund raiser with reservation signs on them become a wrongdoing. Wow. Did he write the checks for the seats? No. Just look at the campaign contribution reports - you will see the names. Tisk tisk. This is a real stretch. But the objective was accomplished. The word was published. Wrong - but so what. Way to go McKay.
Impeccable - is an appropriate comment when it comes to his decisions. But - and again kudos Mckay - it was an opportunity to schmear him again. Nice segway for the moral plop. And I bet he changed it to eliminate another segway for Mckay & company to get more priceless publicity. He should change it back. His work on the bench IS imepccable.
Now as to the Babylon legislator - it is his job to help his constituents - so a call from a son is not surprising - but was there a call? To him? And, if he felt why then did he attend the fundraiser for Simeone? Ins't he an Independence party member?
Way to go McKay.
Now McKay is related to Whelan - right? Godfather or something with kids? And isn't Theresa Whelan - who wants to be Family Court Judge - married to a Suffolk Supreme Court Judge? Well - a dynasty! king and Queen. McKay the Jack?
Inquiring minds want to know...

Judge Simeone is probably one of the only and last fair Family court judges who respect fathers rights.

question wrote: <quoted text> Is the Integrity party a real party? Does it have a ballot line? The Integrity Party from my sources tell me it's a coalition of people from many parties and some unaffiliated, who believe in responsible government and accountable govt. They have screened candidates from all across the spectrum and have endorsed the same. The biggest criteria for them is how a candidate has behaved in office and are they trustworthy ? Most of their endorsements have been pretty solid even if their candidate lost. There are a few exceptions. The Judge going to prison for money laundering is one of them and the most embarassing but he was also supported by a major party and had pulled the wool over many eyes. All in all it's a good concept for people to rally around. There is a good chance that the Integrity Party will get their own ballot line. They are taking it to litigation and have some respectable candidates they can use to test this in court.

I just googled this guy Simeone, I can't believe this guy, please let me ask, WHY is this shady character still working?? Has anyone else done a little searching? Google this guy right away, he thinks nothing of women, he's a horrible guy, what on earth does it take to remove someone from the bench anyway?? This is a major problem we should all be concerned with. I'm just flat-out disgusted with this guy Simeone. I mean, damn....

So if you don't like what someone says about the almighty judge, they have been "a participant" in his courtroom? Grow up. The guy is a disgrace. And from what I understand and from what I have been gearing all over, looks like word is spreading around on him.

If this is the best the GOP can do countywide, no wonder why they didn't even bother to field a candidate against Levy.

Well just maybe before you judge his abilities INSIDE the courtroom by OUTSIDE stuff maybr you should know he is a judge who does not bow down to any attorney and believes in fathers rights.I have been a participant in his courtroom and if my s/n does'nt tell you my feelings about government ,as much as I ca'nt stand monkey suites I must say this judge is fair and has my respect.

Before any more Simeone employees write that checking the names of who wrote the checks is all you need to do to clear Simeone, open a law book and get a download on what the law is. You have NO CLUE what you are talking about and it is sad. Thankfully the Commission on Judicial Ethics understands the law and so does "Judge" Simeone--just chooses to ignore it.

Simeone critique
Katonah, NY
|
Hon. Ettore A. Simeone Hon. Ettore Simeone is a graduate of the State University of New York at Binghamton and Albany Law School. From 1981 to 1989, he served as an assistant district attorney for Suffolk County. From 1990 to 1997, he served as principal law clerk to State Supreme Court Justice H. Patrick Leis III. In 1997, he was appointed to the Suffolk County Family Court by Governor George E. Pataki on an interim basis and elected to the Family Court the following year.
Judge Simeone was observed by ten monitors on eleven different days.
Demeanor The monitors described Judge Simeone as "calm," "courteous," and "respectful to everyone." One monitor praised, "Judge Simeone cares for the children." Another described the judge as "like a father who was sympathetic yet firm." Monitors praised the manner in which Judge Simeone interacted with children and others involved in the proceedings. One monitor was impressed that he talked to the involved children, "letting them know that they were empowered to make things better or worse." This monitor also pointed out that Judge Simeone used "certificates, pictures with the judge and applause" to encourage the children. Another monitor recounted a case in which a sign language translator was used with parents who were both profoundly hearing impaired. This monitor praised the judge for his patience with the parents and the translator:“the parents were agitated but the judge explained and explained until the [parents]] understood their rights and the consequences of their behavior plus the reasons for his numerous [rulings] in the case.”
Professionalism Monitors found Judge Simeone to be "highly professional." They stressed that he was “very knowledgeable” on all observed cases and gave clear and thorough explanations, and "made sure he was understood." Another monitor noted, "His questions to petitioners were clear and on point." One monitor was impressed that he explained “which options were available for each litigant” particularly which program would best suit them. Monitors praised Judge Simeone for the efficient manner in which he conducted proceedings. One monitor remarked, "Judge Simeone ran a very efficient courtroom with the very willing cooperation of his staff." One monitor was impressed with efforts not to waste time when a placement for a child had to be arranged. The monitor observed that the judge or a member of his staff would “on the spot” call the agency to start the placement process. On another occasion Judge Simeone was actively involved in assuring that the afternoon session ended on time in keeping with new overtime rules for staff. Monitors also were impressed by the formality of proceedings in Judge Simeone's courtroom. Two monitors were impressed that, in their experience, only Judge Simeone began the day with the Pledge of Allegiance. One monitor noted, "It was an effective reminder of where were and what was happening." Another approvingly observed, "This was [only] the second courtroom here in family court where we were asked to rise each time the judge entered."
Command of the Courtroom In general, monitors reported that Judge Simeone was in “good” control of his courtroom.
Audibility Some monitors had difficulty hearing Judge Simeone and suggested,“The judge should speak up.” Noise from the hallway and opening doors was reported as a problem attributed his inaudibility.

I remember reading an article about an American judge, quite a while ago, who was removed from office after it was found that he had been offering young male offenders lighter sentences in return for them allowing him to shampoo their hair. In a word, he allowed his fetish to interfere with the proper execution of justice. This is no different. A judge should not try anyone he knows personally. To do so without declaring the interest is a breach of trust.

Judge Hertha Trotta of 1st District holds on to cases she when she knows shes biased against the defendant.I see no difference here.Just remember,Innocent till proven guilty.
