Have you ever killed a squirrel or raccoon by strangling/crushing it with your bare hands?Has anyone ever thought there might be another side of this story? Has anyone of you ever killed a squirrel or raccoon but no one called the police on you? Has anyone ever thought that this man didn't want to put his family through a trial so he pleaded guilty to something that was really an accident? Has anyone one of you ever heard of a man named Jesus Christ who said "LET NO MAN THROW STONES".
There's a huge difference between accidentally hitting an animal with your car and grabbing one, squeezing it until it screams, and continuing to do so until the life is gone from it. The Bible also says many things about not harming others' animals, as well as detailing the punishment for harming another person's living property (cattle are mentioned several times in the old testament).
Outside of Biblical arguments, there is a correlation between people hurting animals and eventually hurting other people, so it's essential to nip this in the bud before this guy does something even worse. I don't want to trivialize what he has done, but I would hope that putting it in a different way will get people to realize that the type of animal in this case does not matter.
What matters is that the man lost control in such a ridiculously heinous way that he used his hands to end the life of something that is complex enough to feel pain. THAT should never happen.
