Police said no romance involved, but something seems fishy to me.

something tells me that Heidi Lynn Baskin

might be wanted under a different name for a crime so horriffic that she killed herself rather than face the music.

Her husband wasn't taking care of business at home so she had to go next door to the neighbors house (A WOMAN) to get business taking care of. That's why the husband was at the neighbors house with the gun.
JUST A WILD GUESS SINCE NEWSDAY DOESN'T KNOW ANYTHING MORE THAN ME.
Why did they have so many guns anyway?

May she rest in peace....Condolences to the family.

Police said that the neighbors involved in the incident had been longtime friends and had known each other "at least nine years." They had keys to each other's apartments, police said. There was not believed to be any romantic involvement.

Late Thursday night, police said, Schaffer burst into the home of the unidentified neighbors carrying the .45-caliber semi-automatic. He held the gun to the woman's throat, accused her son of stealing money and yelled over and over again: "It's over!"

maybe the son and heidi were bumbing uglies.

Come on, there has to be something a little more to this story than Newsday or the cops are admitting. We'll probably never know but first poster was right, we'll speculate over this one for awhile.

I'm sure there is more to this than we will know. A women took her own life and that is a very tragic thing. Please don't forget she was somebody's daughter, a wife and possible a mother...Let her rest in peace.

That's a little extreme. One dysfunctional family doesn't change an entire town.

I have this poor soul in my prayers. The nightmare of the hurt and misery of her life caught up with her. Before leaving, she saved the life of a neighbor, this tells me all I need to know about her character. May Almighty God have mercy on her.

Once again, Newsday prints irrefutable evidence that you Long Islanders, while not only being some of the least educated, rudest, worst-driving Americans in existance, are also some of the craziest crackers around.

I thank you,"expatriate", for leaving long Island, permanently,I hope. Wherever you are, please be happy there, and do not give your former home another thought, especially the thought of returning here. L.I. is a better place without you. Have a nice day!

Nobody knows this woman and they sure have a lot of speculation about her. She was my friend who was one of the kindest women I have ever met. I know for a fact that there was no romantic involement b/w neighbors, nor was she a lesbian. My someone should have helped her becuase in the past ten years she was plagued with financial troubles and depression. I failed her and you can be sure the system failed her. Maybe all of you should get off you high horses you bunch of morans.

Daily Horoscope for June 2

Gemini

You're in a warm-hearted and generous mood today, especially when dealing with loved ones and members of the family. You want to give them as much of your time as possible, and also to do anything else that will keep them happy. The only snag will come if you're trying to spread yourself too thin and you end up making promises that will be difficult, if not impossible, to keep. You may forget all about them but other people won't.
