Teacher to face full trial on touching charges, others added

It is about time! Stories about this man have been going on for almost 25 years.It is just too bad that he has been able to teach at all. I hope some justice will finally be served on some one who deserves it.
It is just sad that he has been able to get away with it for so long, and sad about the lives he has wrecked in the mean time.

Hey Stupid There has been no other sories about Mr. Egged ever! You should be careful that you do not create any problems fo your self by saying things you know nothing about. Mr. Egged has only been teaching fo 5 years and has never done anything wrong to anybody! When the story comes out in court about a momey hungry parent making false charges we shall see who gets bound over for a trial! Learn to read Paul the story is a very simple one even you could understand it.

Who the H%LL is this Paul guy and where does he get his news? Does he even read the Paper? It seems to me the ion our system that we are innocent until proven gulty. Being an avid crime page reader I have never seen Mr. Eggeds name in the paper until now. It seems that Paul needs to pay attention to the facts before he runs off at the mouth and gets himself in a lot of trouble when Mr. Egged sues him for slander!

James Egged must have family in Lake in the Hills, IL. Thank you Paul for voicing your concerns. This guy has been bouncing from school-to-school in Michigan area because his contract wasn't renewed. The private schools he has been in chose to dismiss him for questionable acts rather than prosecute. He finally got nailed -- it is sad that he has gotten away with it for so long.

I noticed that you are to scared to post your name I would be as well if I had no facts and was talking out my ass! Mr. Egged has worked full time at 3 schools. A catholic school where from what I acn find out he was well liked. he left there for more money in to the public school system where he started in Lovonia Michigan then moved to Dearborn Michigan where he was highly liked until a lieing little punk made fauls aligations about him it will all come out it the wash when they charge the kid for making a faulse statement which from what I hear is close to happening.

The charges were dropped on August 2nd but Mr. Egged may not be able to sue because of how the legal system is. It is just unfortunate that people are they way they are and are always trying to create a reason to sue teachers and schools.

I have known this man since High School and have a daughter who is now 20 years old and had no problem with her being around this man. What stories you are talking about I do not know but I doubt he has wrecked any lives in fact I know he has made a difference in the lives of many children from his students to the scouts he has worked with and the baseball players he has coached.

The charges were not dropped, he plead them down. His court date was Sept.25. That is in the paper, not that everything in the news is correct, but he is on the Michigan State sex offender list. I would think that just based on the fact that he is a teacher he would have gone to trial to rid himself of that fact, provided innocence. As far as the pornography he plead guilty to those counts, so even if this kid was just looking for quick money what the hell is an adult male doing with porno of kids? As far as suing I wish he would, he tried to sue the Livonia fire department and lost, not once but twice, thats not just a guess if you type his name in on google the case will show up. So if he is telling people the molestation case was dropped in August and the court and Leader are showing up that he was at his hearing in September ??????????

Yes the charges were reduce to a simple assualt on the child because the Judge did not believe a word of his story but the over zealous investigator would not let it go. As far as the child porn they charged him with 6 counts but the judge through out all but 2 which he plead gulty to (naked pictures of under age girls) And yes he must now register as a sex offender because of the porn charges. But what he was doing with them who knows. As far as the city of Livonia Tom you better learn to read, 2 cases one injury of his arm on the Job Mr. Egged won and was paid. Then double hurnia on the Job and once again he was paid with full retirement . So if you are going to speak Tom open your eyes before you open your mouth! You know it is people like yu who do not have a clue about what they are saying and it bothers me that they allow idiots like you to even speak but it is in the constitution so there is nothing we can do but let you make an ass out of your self. And lastly I am not related to Mr. Egged, I have seen the way that things can be turned around or lied about so I do not judge until I can get the truth which it seems people like Tom can not do. In fact it looks like he has some kind of personal vendeta against Mr. Egged. Did he fail you in a class Tom???

As a parent I am glad that Mr. Egged had those charges dropped. Everyone I have ever spoken seems to thinks that the kid’s parents were in it for the money, even the people at school he taught at. It is just a shame that Mr. Egged was unable to vindicate himself of the other charges. I understand that most of them were dropped as well. The prosecutors had nothing to go on from what I understand. Even though there was no evidence against him it is people like Tom and Paul who would be on the jury that would not have given him a fair trial. I also read Lisa’s post and heard others talk about him and his work with kids. I think the kids of Dearborn have been done a disservice by all of this and they are the ones who will lose out.

Well it is nice to see that some one can see the light. Thank you Rudy for being able to voice your opinion. It is so easy for people like Tom and Paul to say things they know nothing about. Though Mr. Egged did have pictures that he should not have had, that does not mean that he has done anything to anybody! There is so much of this kind of thing on the TV that is seems our poor teachers are the mondern day witches and people like Tom and Paul are the type to go on witch hunts. How many good teacher's lives will we shatter before all that is left is the bottom of the barrel to teach our children. Though I am not a techer I feel that they should get a lot more support from all of us. But the parents of this country need to stop thinking that teachers can do it all by them selves. My mother taught all of us to read before the first grade and My son will also be able to do this, because my wife and I believe that it is our resposiblity to teach our children.

Rudy and David it sounds to me like Tom and Paul are just bitter people about something.
Perhaps one of them has a wife like Mr. Egged’s ex-wife. I knew her and she could lie straight-faced. Mr. Egged won custody from her because she was an unfit mother and he was a much better parent. I do not know how she takes care of her kids now, they must have to raise themselves. Not only that I also understand that she has been asked to leave a couple of churches over here on the Westside because she causes problems for the pastor. Well anyway that divorce was 20 years ago. So I don’t know how stories of this guy can go back 25 years, especially since I have known him almost 30 years. He has done nothing but great things with children in the time that I have known him and as Rudy put it,“…the kids of Dearborn have been done a disservice by all of this and they are the ones who will lose out.”

Very fortunate that he only has to serve probation. Whats wrong with our judicial system?

Mr. Egged has worked with my two daughters and has done wonders for their self-esteem. I can’t see where he would do anything to harm a child. He is an advocator for children, especially those who have been bullied by other children and yes even by adults within the schools like my daughters. He made them feel good about school again and nothing can replace that in my family. I am sure that these other charges are a misunderstanding and if he plead guilty it was because he was bullied himself by the powers that be.

The best part of all this is that he will hopefully never teach and be around children that he could harm. He pled guilty for one reason and that was to save himself from serving time. Plea bargain? Judicial System?

Well I don’t know about harming children I have not witnessed anything that would lead me to think he would do anything like that. My boys think Mr. Egged walks on water. Their time with him has been nothing but inspirational. My only hope is that this does not discourage Mr. Egged from being the inspiration to kids that he has always been.

I noticed that the negative people don’t know Mr. Egged they are making assumptions which is how things get out of hand and inspire mobs. Too bad people are like that I guess things will never change. The justice system has disgusted me because of this. People are hateful and evil!!!!!

Consider yourself and your boys fortunate. We will hear from Mr. Egged again and unfortunately it will not be positive. Thankfully he did have to register on the Sex Offender List and hopefully with the proper backgroud checks being conducted he will never have a job where he can be around children again. The Justice System has also disgusted me, it is a shame when a person can plea bargain and never have to serve time. He is very fortunate.

I feel that I have to tell Mr. Disgusted that he does know what he is talking about. It is good to see that the people that know Mr. Egged are standing behind him. I know that his family also has done this. I agree with Lisa in the mob mentality of poeple like Disgusted,Tom and Paul are so small minded and are the kind of people that do not have a clue as to how the real world works. It is a shame that they are even allowed to open their mouths and speak but this is America and that is what we do here. The reason for the plea bargon was obvious had the state enough evidence to convict they would not have done what they did. Mr. Egged had no choice but to do what he had to get himself out of the grip of our over zelous Justice syste. I love my country but fear my Government look at what they do all the way down the latter to the bottom corruption and money feed them all.
