prexplorer wrote: The movie is about a pseudo-priest who lives in a monastery that wants to secretly become a famous wrestler and secretly he makes his dream come true along with his sidekick. I like comedy. Have to check it out. In fact, the other day I was watching this N.Yorker of P.Rican roots, I guess it was Jim Santiago (the last name I remember it well, though not the name). The guy's comic strand is very intelligent, classy and politically tuned (though not strident). Along the lines of Wanda Sykes...me moría de la risa. En uno de los chistes, puso a toda la audiencia a pitar como el coquí and added-That's how Puerto Rico sounds at night, I just saved you guys over $400 on Jet Blue... Tremendo comediante... Jorge

We do call ourselves Americans and we are proud of it. We are also proud of our Puerto Rico, just like, for example, Texans are proud of their state. Ignorant people like you are the ones who insist in segregating us by not accepting us as Americans. American wrote: <quoted text> Then why don't you just call them Americans? Instead of Puerto Ricans?

A Ramada Inn is opening in Ponce July 1st in Ponce at the historic Casa Sauri. It will be a boutique hotel with 70 rooms.
The new Ponce Ramada Hotel is a perfect fit for the landmark hotel facility, according to developer Antonio J. Muñoz, because of the chain’s name, Ramada, which in Spanish means “a shaded resting place.” Hotel guests will find it a new cozy oasis right in the heart of historical downtown Ponce.
Architects Fernando Bonnin and Javier L. Bonnin, in partnership with project developer MB Holdings Inc., remodeled and decorated the building in compliance with the historical guidelines set forth during the approval process. All rooms are nonsmoking, but a few of them boast designated-smoking balconies.
Hotel facilities also include a fitness center, Lola restaurant with bar, a coffee shop, outdoor pool, computer area and meeting room with capacity for 15. Some of the hotel services include daily continental breakfast, laundry service (upon request), wireless Internet connection in public areas and benefits of the company’s Wyndham Rewards loyalty program.

You know, Prex., I never understood the "continental breakfast" mystery. In some places is a "bun with coffee"; in other places it includes "a diabetic, old woman's pee" (sorry-orange juice); still in others-coffee and a donut...

And they still haven't finished it. When we were both seven (the airport and I), it had fountains, a small pond with gold fish; tons of green vegetation... They took all that down, and built a ramp for the handicapped...then it was something else (because they gave the handicapped their own elevator)...and now a mall...???

By the way, do you know of any good films either made in PR or directed by a Puerto Rican director that you can recommend?

Boy, her imagnation was running wild...Puerto Rican men everywhere with blades in their pockets or guns visible. Sound like an Indiana Jones sequel..."Indiana Jones and the Condado Crystal Caper".

prexplorer wrote: By the way, do you know of any good films either made in PR or directed by a Puerto Rican director that you can recommend? Yes, in fact a couple of good ones. But, an FBI warning-our movies tend to be "panfletarias". Let me explain-"panfletario " comes from "pamphlet"-which is related to "educational preachiness". So, many of our movies tend to have this "political" theme (usually anti American), for most of our directors sympathize with that orientation.... But, we have a new "batch" of young directors with interesting "projects". One of them is-12 horas; it is about this group of female workers that meet (after work), on a Friday night (in San Juan) and everything that happens to each one in a twelve hour span. The "panfletario" ones are-La Gran Fiesta; Linda Sara (with Dayanara Torres)...and let me sleep on it and I'll come back with other titles.
