Um, little one, since House Districts are drawn to contain the same population. Since the inner cities have been losing people for decades, and have probably lost more in the current decade, to places like district 6. Chances are district 6 is now larger than the average district.

The 6th district, in large part, is a lightly populated hick district whose membership would not even come clost to being able to tip the ideological balance of the electorate in either the 7th, 8th or especially the 4th districts. So too bad, so sad and nice try!!

The 6th district ceased to be a lightly populated hick district when your family moved out, SFB.

The Sixth District is mostly a high growth area. It includes a large swathe of eastern and northern suburban areas plus it runs northwest to St. Cloud. Most of the sixth is in the "golden arc" that goes from Rochester to St. Cloud through the metro. This is supposedly the fastest growing area in the state in terms of development and I am sure the population is growing quite fast as well.

Unless Minnesota has a growth spurt in the next two years, it probably won't matter who is in the sixth district, because it likely will be cut up and given to other districts.

Actually, the 6th district is losing population and is slated to be re-drawn. Once that happens, goodbye Michele "Bat$h!t Crazy" Bachmann.
