1 What is this story even being put on here for? just condolences? now TC.com is a condolance page! no, personal opinion is what it is use for and this story has nothing to do with any matters of "opinion" -yeah its a sad story, so whats the issue? the deer? what now , "kill all the Deer" is that the point? |

Just wondering if she was wearing a seat belt?
|
||||
I had the same question. Seatbelts can save the life of both the mom and the baby in a car accident. http://familydoctor.org/online/famdocen/home/... What a tragedy for this family. My sincere condolences. |

1 Ever think that the seatbelt could have caused the injury to the baby? |

1 Too many deer, lets cull some more during this hunting season. These road rats need to be reduced. The city folk in Minneapolios and St. Paul think these rats are cute, but they are rats. |

1 This is actually a good question. What usually injures babies in a car accident is a sudden impact to the abdomen - like from hitting a dashboard or steering wheel. What you don't want with a seatbelt is a seatbelt that goes across the tummy. Then if you get into a car accident, the seatbelt catches on the baby and this can hurt the baby. Seatbelts should be worn so that the lower belt is over the hips (as low on the abdomen as it can go) and the top belt is above the pregnant belly. That way, the seatbelt catches on the mom's hips and chest and nothing touches the baby in a car accident. No seatbelts, dashboards, or steering wheels hitting the baby = good. |

1 That is correct, slam the braks on fine, but if you try to swerve more than likely you'll end up hitting a tree, much worse than just hitting a deer. |
