I should have known from when I walked into the store and all the customers waiting were there for problems with their eyeglass orders/purchases versus buying new.....to stay away. Customers were so upset they walked out halfway in discussions.
My second issue was the sales person really did not care about what they were doing and explained nothing.
STUDPIDLY, I placed my eyeglass order, because it was a new store and I thought their sales were legit and was scammed as well. Disclosure of inferior product was not made until after the purchase when it was too late. Very disappointing, I expressed my dissatisfaction, was assured I would be taken care of and of course THAT NEVER HAPPENED.... Customer BEWARE!(the same product I purchased was $100 less at Visonworks)

My son went into Eye Glass Works (off University Parkway) in Sarasota (near the new Kohl's) to DONATE my old eyeglasses (to Lion's Club).

He was told by the female employee of Eye Works, "We don't believe in that."

Worse... she said:

"Good luck finding a Lion's Club box, sir."

I will NEVER EVER purchase another pair of eyeglasses from that store (my current pair was purchased there) based on their appalling attitude.

Wow...my experience with this company has been fantastic. They went above and beyond what i expected of them. I refered them to my mother in law and she loves her new glasses. I found the staff to be extremely helpfull and professional. They were busy and i did have to wait a minute or two but im very glad i did. I would highly recomend eyeglass works.

Ya gotta look closely at these deals and not through rose colored glasses. Focus on the fine print, it could result in quite a spectacle.

No problem with coupons or fine print.....they actually told me of a better special when I went in there, this place is actually the real deal. Their selection is very good too!

New store opened on Cyress in Fort Myer is terrible. The eye doctor was terrific. I pain for everything up front. I was told that all I would still owe on my next visit was for the different in price for the toric lense. I bought both contacts and glasses and paid 397.00 with their coupon. On my second visit I was told I had to pay another 99.00. I complained because I had for everything and I was told that all I had paid for was glasses. I had to pay another 68.00 for the doctor they said and all I would need to pay nest time was 23.00 for the toric lense. I just went to order my contact and now they want me to pay 31.00 and pay for my contacts which would be 50.00 or more. What a scam this place is for sure. NEVER BELIEVE WHAT THESE PEOPLE TELL YOU. GET EVERYTHING IN WRITING FROM THEM IF YOU GO THERE. I would really suggest you go to people who are honest. I fully intend to tell everyone I know not to go to this crooked store!!!!!!

Just got glasses and contacts at the new place on six mile cypress--a friend recommended them. I was very pleased! The selection of frames was great and the prices were very competitive. I've been wearing glasses for more than 30 years so I know what to expect from an optical and I must say I was very impressed from start to finish. The staff was very thorough and patient and the manager even came over and asked me about my visit. Not only will I go back next year, but I will be sure to tell my friends!

I needed to take my son and myself for eye exams, had our exams done and ended up we both needed glasses, they had the buy one get one free deal. I spent approx.$300 total...Great Deal!!!! Great customer service from everyone working there very satisfied and would definately recomend to others.

I just took my daughter to the one in Sarasota by Fresh Market.
They had the newspaper special 2 for 89.00. The eye exam was what it said it would be. My daughter did not like the special glasses. She said they looked like they were for dorks. So we spent a little more. However; my total bill for glasses, Toric contacts, and contact/eyeglass exam was $280.00.
My pearle vision exam with contacts and glasses was $550.00. Lensecrafters is much more.
I found the Eyeglass doctor to be helpful and the tech's there to be very nice and not pushy into the "high end" glasses for my "high end daughter"!

Just came back from the Eyeglass Works in Ft. Myers for about the 6th (and last) time. Got two pair of glasses during their grand opening and could never wear them because of distortion in the lenses. Apparently, they use very cheap progressive lenses in their "specials." The last time I went back, I was told by Randy that I could get a new prescription from my doctor and they would replace the lenses. He also specifically told m that I could upgrade to a Varilux lens for $39 per pair. Today, I was told that they would be $99 per pair, and take it or leave it. I left it.

I was lied to, and I have two pair of glasses I can't wear. My advice is to stay away.

Off to Costco!
