Full story: The Santa Fe New Mexican

Tourist season might be over, but downtown Santa Fe could seem pretty crowded this week, as hundreds of legislators from 13 Western states come to Santa Fe for the annual conference of the Council of State Governments-West. Since so many of our tax dollars have gone to this organization, I wonder if they would welcome us with open arms. The speakers would be interesting. The food sounds delidious. The workshops informative.

Let me know if you want to go Judge Roy. But don't forget to sew your pockets shut. LOL

Politics as usual. Hotels should do well, but these people don't spend money. They are here to eat, drink and party at tax payer's expense.

Ditto on all the above comments. I noticed no Lobbiest group labeled "Poor Citizens" or Middle Income contributors, did you? Of course the "How to communicate with constituents", might be worth the expense if the lecture starts with Active Listening instead of the usual YOU JUST DON'T UNDERSTAND its so complicated mantra.

Wonder if anyone will speak to the issue of the western states seceeding slowly back to Mexico, and their income redistribution healthplan, borders and respect for law. HMMMMM

As usual, lots of whiners come out whenever government officials get together for a convention.
You folks just don't GET IT. This is what government is all about: Hobnobbing, networking, politicking, deal-making, etc. I'm glad our small-town legislators are playing the game. I'd be pissed if they just sat around, doing nothing, acting like small-time politicians. I want my legislators "workin it."
It always cracks me up when Nader/Green Party and other fringe candidates emerge in election.s Like...they're gonna be succesful in Washington DC, bringing their fringe-party ideas?
I hope NM NEVER elects a fringe party politician--because this person will not get anything done on The Hill.

Cut education and health care budgets across the country. Reduce services and programs for the most needy.

Come to Santa Fe and party with the most corrupt state government and legislature in the country.

Politics as usual.

A bunch of crooks in Santa Fe thinking of new ways to tax and steal...

NM is the wild west with corrupt politicians all around the state. Including small town mayors.

Daily Horoscope for January 3

Taurus

The steadier you are now, the better: this is not the time to throw caution to the wind and be exceptionally attentive to details. If anything, labour the point and you'll find in a few days' time that you are really glad you did. Friends will be able to give your morale a big boost at the moment, if you're in need of support. Team relationships and efforts work tremendously well at the moment. Why fly solo if you don't need to?
